If Jordan had never taken those 2 years off would Bulls have 8 straight titles?

Houston takes one of those years if they met. They we're one of the few teams that matched up well with Jordan's bulls.

On a related note the gambling suspension 1st retirement was one of the greatest mishaps to happen for Mj, the Nba, and and professional sports in general. He left on top, let his body recover while staying in decent shape for baseball, came back and knocked off some rust, then continued to dominate, break records, and ultimately generate billions of dollars.

And the nba finally got the Knicks into a finals

It's was the jordan layoff and the loss to the magic that drove jordan to a psycho competitor and pippen dealing with losing in the playoffs and failing the following year that made him more appreciative of the opportunity and made him a better player. I don't think if jordan didn't leave pippen would have ever grew as a player and I don't think if jordan stayed he would have had the fire to win like he did.

I think they go back to back in the finals vs Houston and splits, then go a couple of years not winning it, then maybe another back to back happens and then jordan retires.

Yep and Pip also said that the 94 year helped him understand the shyt MJ had to physically and mentally deal with as the leader of the team. Pip said it was an intense spot light to be in (especially the situation when he would not go in for the last shot vs the knicks) and he was happy as hell to give it back to MJ when he came back.

They won six without playing a game 7.

So yes I think they could have.
3 different times (Phoenix 1993 and Utah 1997 and 1998)they were less than 10 seconds from a game 7 (1993 and 1998 would have been game 7 on the road) and it took a monumental 4th quarter collapse in game 6 by Portland to avoid game 7 (they blew a 15 point 4th quarter lead). Was a lot closer than we remember.

History, says no

What the Bulls were doing, says yes

:yeshrug:
Based on what though? If Jordan doesn't retire does Ron Harper come to the Bulls? Does Ho G sign with Orlando? If Ho G stays they probably don't get Rodman. If Ho G stayed originally they would've beaten Orlanso when Jordan came back anyway. Too many variables.

How do you bet against MJ:dahell:

How do you bet against the toll taken on bodies from fatigue? :dahell:

There's a reason teams don't win 8 in a row and no one will. You see that Heat team in 2014? The toll was taken from their fourth finals trip. Same with Lakers in 2011. No one just keeps on winning because it's a hard thing to do and the motivation to keep on winning is harder to sustain.

That two year break did wonders to help rejuvenate Jordan.

The first meeting with Houston the Rockets would have to beat not just the Bulls, but their nerves also. Too much to overcome.

Hakeem may still have went off, but I think the Bulls intimidate the rest of his cast. Too much Finals experience.

The 2nd Finals meeting would be more up in the air.

By 95, them dudes would have been wore out. Plus Orlando was straight piff that year, before Nick Anderson's mental breakdown and the riff between Penny & Shaq surfaced.

Even if they get past Orlando, Houston takes them out.
