I always preferred the first one and it has the classic singles, but I realize this is an Infamous/Hell on Earth situation and some people fee very strongly about Dare.

Some people say Dare is his best album tho. I've preferred Dare over Whut for a while now but lately I've been thinking Whut is his best:jbhmm:

this is nowhere near 90's era red but this new song of his ain't bad if you don't compare it to his classic work of the 90's, lol

this sound like a song suited more for a popular rapper of today but 1 thing fo sure, the production on this shyt is clean :lawd:

If you don't have Reggie in your top 10...
For the sake of a debate, most people don't. Many would have, in no order...

1: Nas
2: 2Pac
3: KRS-One
4: Rakim
5: Scarface
6: Biggie
7: Kool G Rap
8: Slick Rick
9: Ghostface
10: Big Daddy Kane

Above him, for example...

And that's without mentioning yet people like Ice Cube, Raekwon, Prodigy, Common, Guru, Big Pun, AZ who would arguably all be above him too, and a bunch of others too. But in general I probably see the majority of those names more than Red.

What's your top 10 anyway?

personally muddy waters, while a good album, was the start of the fall off and dare was prime redman imo..he just goes off completely on that album. I bought blackout 1 too but shyt was never the same. I agree whut the album was pretty much on par with dare, both great.

i can still picture my fledgling graffiti handstyle on that recorded tape of dare lol..still have it somewhere i think

Darkside is one of my favorite albums....Whut is dope too.

the goofy weedhead image to gain a bigger white fanbase is what did him in His raps suffered and by the time Docs Da Name dropped I didnt wanna ever hear another Redman album ever again.

This.

The first time I heard Redman was on EPMD's Business as Usual album. I was a little kid, lol. He was my favorite rapper from like '92 to '98. Easily. He was best when he was doing his thing with Erick and messing with the funk production. Dare Iz A Darkside is my favorite Red album. Dark, hardcore, street Redman was the best Redman. When he got into all that comical shyt, he got corny to me. Early on, he was able to be funny and still keep his edge, like with the Uncle Quilly stuff. He just kinda turned into a clown later on, so I stopped listening.

But his run from Whut? Thee Album to Muddy Waters was untouchable. He was definitely one of the best in the game during that period.

:heh: bruh this is cheeks.

yeah it is, just the catchy beat had my attention :russ: and the beat is the trendy sound of today really
it's horrible for redman's standards and like i said, nowhere near his classic work obviously but it's better than some of the other more recent songs of his :mjlol:
