He would be a contender for one of the G.O.A.T.S, I strongly believe Royce da 5'9" has the complete package to be the greatest and we all know it's mandatory to be on a major to be considered anything relevant or catch anyone's attention. With that being said, the right producers, a major budget and his potential to make classic songs would def put him in talks with the ice cubs, pacs, BIGs and Nas's, no question! F*ck what anyone says! :takedat:

I highly doubt that! real talk, Royce has shown that he's more than just a spitter, dude has charisma, can make the commercial joints, actually picks better beats than a Canibus type of rapper, nah i just don't ever see him going the canibus route :rudy:

His best CD was death is certain, which had no commercial appeal.

He's also very corny.

Decent rapper, but was never gonna appeal to the masses.

Is he entertaining enough? Can he write hits? is he interesting enough to have millions of people follow him AND buy what he's selling?

Anyone can make hard, safe music and not attract fans or sell records.
Now try doing that and actually being successful is extremely uncommon.

I don't think he's got what it takes, more Canibus than LL.

This comparison is DUMB!

1.) Write hits? - He did for Dre and Diddy
2.) Millions - Lighters sold well over a millions copies..
3.) Hard/safe music - Wtf is that?
4.) He's prolly the only artist we know to consistenly either a.) be on par with Eminem OR b.) have better verses than Em
5.) Granted he doesn't have close to the success sales wise as LL. But skill wise I think you would be hard pressed to say that Royce aint better than LL and Canibus.

The latter is most recently known for this.

LOL @ u saying highly doubt that...First of all.....we cant go back in time and change anything so all we can do is speculate. So basically what u are saying is that your speculation has more weight then my speculation....But they're both speculation.

1. Write hits for himself then, shyt you know what I meant by that. The people who write hits for Rihanna are not people that could score hits themselves by releasing those records.

2. Anyone can drop a hit when you have EMINEM and BRUNO MARS just like 2 of the 3 biggest mainstream male artists out.

3. Hard/safe music as in just spitting bars, no radio/club formatted structures, no trying to reach out to people who don't necessarily know every single thing about rhyming. Essentially just making hard music that it's pretty safe to say that the people of that type of rap will fukk with no one else will listen or care.
If Jay or Nas would do those type of things they would have 6/5 mics on every album, but the process of releasing an album is a bit deeper than that.

4. If you rap with Eminem 15 times of course you will outshine him a few times. Specially this new wack Eminem, who got outshined by Drake, Lil Wayne and those type of artists.

5. Lol at Royce being better than LL Cool J. This dude has about 3 mic albums that all sold millions, introduced mad styles to hiphop, influenced almost all the greats etc. Royce has not done shyt buy spit hard bars and dropped 1-2 dope albums that didn't do shyt for hiphop, sales or anything else. Anyone can spit hard bars, that's not the shyt that get you in most peoples top 20 or top 30 lists. I.e. that's why I call him Canibus, and not LL.

A Canibus with the biggest popstar of the past 13 years by his side.

How the fukk are Royce and Canibus remotely similar? They don't have similar styles, career paths, skin tone, or anything else.

Cause like Royce, back in the days he was rated high of bars and technical skills. But didn't have any memorable songs, never did anything fresh or original (i.e. shyt that hasn't been done) and on. But for some reason people still rated him high. Same goes for Royce imo. While he's a great rapper he's far from top 10 but easily top 50. He can box with the people in his team. But I would never, not even in my dreams, put him in the same league as any of the greats.

Or maybe Kendrick Lamar without anything fresh, original or any known hiphop classics.
