Tim Duncan played 8 minutes off the bench against the Warriors and they had their best defensive performance of the season. Tim Duncan means fukk all to the team. He plays good defense with awful offense and can just keep the ball moving at this point. He'd get zero credit for this right and rightfully so.

To be honest with you, winning a ring this year will NOT enhance his legacy anymore than it has and I say this a diehard TD and Spurs fan.

We all know that THIS Tim Duncan, while still the anchor on defense, isn't even the same TD from two seasons ago. He's willingly taken the backseat to everybody else and focusing on defense and manning the boards. I already have him in my person top 5 so it's whatever.

he already ranks higher than kobe to most heads, so why bring kobe up? that's like beating on a dead horse.

he'll never be a top 3 or 4 player tho.

and like somebody already said early on, hes been a roleplayer for a while now. at best, him padding his stats with more rings will be ammo for revisionists 20 years from now, who want to put him in the top 5.

Kobe isn't even top 10

THIS.

beat me to it.

That he is a top 3-4 player of all time and had a better career than Kobe?

Timothy Theodore Duncan is the GOAT PF and if he wins a 6th ring, he'll move up into top 4 NBA player all time on my list behind MJ, Magic and Bird. Actually think you could place him top 3 above Bird if you wanted to...you could make an argument for it.

Dallas by way of Houston by way of San Antonio
Duncan averaged 18 and 11 against the Clips last year

He averaged 15 and 10 in the 2014 Finals

He averaged 19 and 12 in the 2013 Finals

That's a role player? :dahell:

He's just coasting in the reg. season. :manuehh2:

DunGawd already surpassed Mamba though. A 6th ring would just be icing on the cake :manny:

He get's a sixth ring...then the only basketball conversation having in the last 26 years is...Timmy vs Jordan...

He would already have 6 if the best coach in the NBA hadn't outstmarted himself...

Or 7 if he hadn't torn his meniscus the year they were a one seed...

Why isn't Reem listed as well??

But Tim's career is certainly ahead of Lebron's and Kobe's in my book.

The real testament of his greatness to me is his presence in lifting up one of the NBA's smallest and more lackluster franchises. David was great, George was great but Tim is San Antonio. And San Antonio is a legit hoops Titletown.
