If we placed these 80s, 90s, and early 00s players in the league today, would they be better or worse?

For this thread we will just transport said player and their current skillset into the NBA today.

For example we're putting 1994 Rookie Jamal Mashburn in the league today.

Heres the list
Michael Cooper
Byron Scott
Jamal Mashburn
Jim Jackson
Ron Harper
Tom Chambers
Dan Majerle
Glen Rice
Steve Smith
Alvin Roberson
Dereck Harper
Michael Finley
Jason Richardson
Peja S
Cuttino Mobley
Allan Houston
Latrell Sprewell
Nick Van Exel

I dont want to turn this into a old guard vs new guard thread, but I really want to know the opinions of some posters and what they think.

I think it would be interesting.

Heres the list
Michael Coope— not drafted
Byron Scott- same
Jamal Mashburn- worst
Jim Jackson- worst
Ron Harper- worst
Tom Chambers- worst
Dan Majerle- same
Glen Rice- better
Steve Smith-worst
Alvin Roberson-better
Dereck Harper- never really watched him
Michael Finley-worst
Jason Richardson-better
Peja S- same
Cuttino Mobley- worst
Allan Houston- better
Latrell Sprewell- same
Nick Van Exel- same

You're getting pushback because everyone knows that the roleplayers of the 90's-00's wouldn't make an NBA roster in today's current NBA.

Most of them would be too small, not skilled enough, can't shoot well enough. They'd play overseas
Most of these guys are better than role players. You can argue most of them would not be #1/2/3 like they were then but most of them would be on an NBA roster.

In your opinion from my list, tell me which players would NOT be in the league

The bolded would be at least be the same, or have a chance to be "better", or at least more statistically productive.

The italicized would probably stay the same. Those left plain I'm not sure about it would be worse.

@Jplaya2023—and those who think like him—are basketball boomer. the sport was at its best when they were watching as kids and it can never get better.

Its thinking like this why barry bonds can’t get into the HOF.
But i think bonds should be 1st ballot HOF and top 3 ever
