First, you said this to a Black American:

Implying, Black Americans had a choice in any of this (which also implies we took land). Second, you are not a Black American, you are an immigrant. So you, or your parents, came here by your free will. My ancestors did not have a choice. Also, those tribes were not genetically whitewashed, though mentally they were.

I mean I get what you are saying and it sounds nice. It does not matter though. It’s not how the world works. Lands get conquered. It has happened since the beginning of man. Saying this land belonged to others before the white man does not move the needle because it belongs to them now.

Force wins. They beat/swindled/outlasted others and it is theirs.


Also showing respect to the original owners of the land is absolutely NOT a necessity. It may morally be the right thing to do but once again that is not how the world has ever worked

I lived in southern California too, in Los Angeles as a child to teenager, and San Diego as a Navy Recruit and Enlistedman. So I have experience in that area too. There are also others here who are commenting, and have experience in California too. Oh, and I still have family in California to consult with too.
