Miami has multiple players who can guard Philly’s wings. Thing is, Miami is one of the best defenses at the switch. There’s never really a defensive mismatch that Miami can’t handle outside of Embiid. Bam, Butler, Tucker, Martin, Lowry, Struss, Dipo, can all guard and switch onto Harden and Maxey. As athletic as Toronto was, Miami is an even more solid and robust defensive team. They can forced maxey into a bad game. Harden with his veteran leadership will be tougher to fluster, but even then, Miami has enough bodies to make it tough for him as well. This series will come down to Embiid honestly. Will this glaring mismatch be enough against Miami? Embiid can really punish Miami. Also, Miami being a way better 3 point shooting team than Toronto is very significant. Miami is the best 3 point shooting team in the league, contested and open 3s. We saw Toronto exploiting mismatches against the Philly defense and getting to their spots, but Toronto collectively, didn’t have the shooters Miami has, to make the Philly defense pay for collapsing on the mismatches, like when Jimmy or Tucker start to get into their bully ball mood, or when Dipo is able to get into the paint, that’s gonna open things up for Struss, Herro, Vincent, Tucker, Martin(when he’s hot), Duncan(when he’s not shooting like a p*ssy). And if bam ever finds a ball sack and decides to exploit mismatches, that’ll take Miami to another level. Also, Miami’s rotational 3 point defense is gonna be significant on those. Embiid kick outs. Miami just so happens to be the best 3 point defensive team in the nba, and play rotational defense on a string. Also, Miami has multiple playmakers to the rotation. It should be an interesting series.Bad matchup for the Heat
Outside of the 3 point shot, Sixers have every advantage
Sixers struggle with athletic wings, Heat have none of that, outside of Jimmy Butler
Embiid can go crazy on the Heat's bigs
If Maxey and Harden are doing well, no one on the Heat can stop them outside of Jimmy Butler
Good breakdown. Miami is the deeper team while Philly is the more top heavy team. Gonna be interesting for sure.
