If you were to put Steph Curry on the 2001 Sixers would they still make the finals?

Would Steph be able to take that bum ass Sixers team to the finals?

You're right about the spacing but Iverson led them to the finals shooting 42% fg. Plus imagine Curry coming off those Mutombo and Tyrone Hill screens. Also if Steph gets double or triple teamed he just needs guys to knock down timely shots. I think Aaron Mckie and Jumaine Jones could do that. Eric snow would have to be benched.
They couldn’t. Not to the level that would be needed to free up Steph AND win.

That would be grueling for Steph.I just don't know if he has the insane hard hat, John Henry The Rail Road Man type endurance/daredevil'ish nature AI had.AI would crash into a wall until his whole body's callous.Steph would have to do it all with those Sixer teammates.A lot of it would involve off the dribble slashing & taking it to the hole.Encountering more physicality. The game was ugly & rugged back then.Sometimes you can be phenomenal at what you do, but still not be the right guy for a particular type of job.
Did y’all not see his finals numbers on ISO’s?

Thread is funny because every time Steph succeeds the goal post is moved :snoop:

No doubt Steph's a great ISO player, but there's different ways to be effective in the ISO.Steph's able to rock you asleep because he's a phenomenal shooter. He's more crafty/finesse than sheer speed & athleticism.Being a Suns fan, I used to watch a lot of Steve Nash.He was a great ISO player for similar reasons.Steph's like a more athletic, faster version of Steve Nash with a score first mentality imo. Most of the time, the end goal of their ISO's to create enough space to get off a clean J.Athletic speed demons like AI/Russell Westbrook for example, their end goal is to just relentlessly blow by you & get to the rim.Steph's not a guy who plays with reckless abandon like that. He's not constantly surging into the lane & throwing his body into crowds. He's mainly going to kill you with J's or an occasional floater inside the lane. It's just different styles.Steph's great where he's at.I wouldn't even want to see him on that '01 Sixers squad.I'd send Russ back to tussle in that barbaric shyt with the quickness, tho:mjgrin:

Steph gets to the rim & finishes at an elite level. He also is the GOAT shooter.

This constant narrative to not want to put Steph with the Giannis/Bron types of players who can turn a team around just by their presence Is crazy

what a bad post

steph has one of the highest motors in the league. and everyone knows hes the most conditioned

as for physicality, steph is one of the best rim finishers in the league. Even when he was smaller, he could take contact from all the bigger players

Steph can get to the rim & finish efficiently.I'm just saying it's not his main mode or objective. He's not that type of player. He's the GOAT shooter like you say.I don't know about the narrative to not put Steph with the Bron/Giannis types.I don't partake in that one.In fact, I'm much more critical of Giannis. He might not even be in my top 5.

Motor & conditioning not even my argument. You can be all of that & still not play with reckless abandon.Rip Hamilton had maybe the craziest conditioning/motor ever, but I wouldn't throw him with the barbarians.

you literally said Steph doesnt have the endurance AI has, and Steph clearly does, and has for a long while now

and motor is important here. Steph has that competitive nature to his game that allows him to rise to the occasion.

at the end of the day, you are just saying what you're saying because you dont believe steph, even though he's given you every reason over the last 8 years to. The celtics were the most physical team in the playoffs. Their defense was touted for months. And steph manhandled them, which no other star/superstar/marquee player could. No giannis, not, KD/Kyrie, not Jimmy butler

i've actually talked about my issues with steph, to the dismay of a lotta guys in the Warriors threads. it's not blind stannery

But using endurance/motor and physicality as reasons why, when there is overwhelming evidence that he has proven himself in those regards is awful reasoning.

you basically said "yeah i've seen him take contact from several players, seen him get harassed on the perimeter and fouled off ball a ton, I've seen him run for literal miles up and down the court per game, i've seen him carry fringe NBA players (most of whom are out the league), but i just dont feel like he's up to it because it's just how i feel :manny: "

U have a good one tho :hubie:
