Unless, you like being called a nikka? Or being know as one? I hate hearing it from a young brother. Being on the train and hearing some kid yell out that word. Being downtown, hearing Spanish guys say it a million times. They say it because they want to be like us. We say it because we want to be cool. It’s disgusting.

Of course there are people who use it that have done way more than I have in our community but I’d still call them lost. Just because you’re lost doesn’t mean your evil or bad. I’m lost in other ways in life myself. I don’t think I’ve come off as perfect in here (except calling the dude an idiot, which I regret). I just think the word is ugly.

I see so many Spanish (pale others) people using the word and it’s because of us.They say things like “I grew up around it or I have family who are black”.

I’ve used it and I feel bad for using it. I’m just saying you’re lost if you use it. I’m not saying dudes should be lynched.

I would think if we as a people stopped using that word (especially in fukin music), the other races will be more hesitant to use it. It's about basic self-respect...that's what @TheIsleofMan is getting at. All of these smart-ass responses about not using it will end all of our pain is exactly what somebody posted above...crab in a barrel mentality. One of the largest components of systemic racism that we refuse to acknowledge is accepting the notion that we're "nikkas". I could go in on this topic but I'll try to be brief:

Those blanks are completely up to you to feel but be honest with me, did you fill them with anything positive? Anything like "nikkas always strive for excellence" or "nikkas never accept a loss"?-- If not it's cuz the word is inherently and irrevocably rooted in our own denigration. That's the reason no one else is 'supposed' to say it, it reminds us too much... and yet it's okay for ourselves? What is that if not self deprecating behavior?
