I have a tempestuous relationship with the n word. I get pulled in both directions as to what is right; use it or step away. On one hand, I believe in the transformative power of words.
Pls explain this word transformation stuff to me. Is it like taking cow shyt and calling it fertilizer? Or calling a poor person as a financially challenged person ?
For me, the word is disrespectful as hell no matter the transformation.

Power is the ability to define reality and have other people respond to that definition as though it were their own.

- Wade Nobles

Aside from the obvious mental laziness it breeds - nothing stops you from mastering how to communicate effectively - arguing for the "right" to defend someone else's lie is beyond stupid.

What would happen if you just stopped using it?

If I called you shyt for a year vs calling you perfect, would it have any impact on you? If so, would it be positive or negative?

There’s a reason why racist don’t like hearing black men and black women call themselves kings and queens. It’s empowering, it makes you feel good. Imagine if your crush or wifey called you king. After some time, you might believe it.

Calling a fellow black man my brother makes me feel good. Makes me feel connected. Your my family because, for so long, my people weren’t allowed to have a family. We were property here in America. Not allowed to marry.

But you guys have dudes RUNNNING in here to call me a nikka. Y’all don’t feel some type of way about that? Dudes who are doing it, y’all don’t feel like idiots? Yeah, you got a few daps, a few chuckles. Now look in the mirror.

I mean that words are living and their meaning changes with time. I respect that you see it differently.
