First we have to understand there is no magic bullet (aside from Reparations = cash and policies for ADOS).

We have to be real about our plight and all the things we have tried to turn the situation around and why they FAILED. All the working hard, going to college to get degrees, "black spending power" etc doesn't translate into black wealth.

this skit and characters from ILC were hilarious. Written by the Wayans, and obviously inspired by neighbors they grew up with. Some Immigrants (and some who moved North in the 3rd part of the Great Migration) get the reality behind the jokes. Arrive in the city with no certs., employers jerk your hours to avoid hiring you full time, so you take mutliple part time jobs. With the added pressure of having to send money back home.

I agree with the whining but the ‘just work harder’ trope is a WASP talking point, usually a cop to explain a larger multilayered issue.

It is like telling someone to calm down when they are already calm, that actually makes that person irritated or eventually enraged.

When I hear that shyt, I hear “work til you drop dead then I guess nikka that’s all you good for” and that is an actual problem in the AA community, all we ever know is work, our religion is fukking work, nikkas kept working for free til the 1970’s in some states because they didn’t know slavery was over. Yet we get called lazy.

Studies show the work is being done, twice as hard. Work is nothing if a greater force can nullify your work as meaning nothing or they can systematically say “it doesn’t count”. And when I say “say” I mean take an active role of sabotage or ethnic cleansing. The whole subprime loan issue is an example of that, many AA’s qualified for PRIME loans and were pushed into ‘Mudloans’ (go research the history of the term mud people and you might understand the pathology that’s been here,). When you present your qualifications, everyone still writes us off as “nah you didn’t earn it”, and it’s easy for them to take your money, freeze it or just throw it away out of spite. That’s what banks are doing to us still right now. There are MANY more examples of economic sabotage but we already know them

And then you have hispanics being heralded as these martyrs for doing jobs “no one else will do” when in actuality they were hired to kick blacks out and blacks were doing those “honorable” jobs first. Same thing is happening in the Trades as we speak. Along with the open not so secret practices for temp agencies not hiring AA’s but helping other immigrants get fake SSN’s for jobs. And those same immigrants are told not to hire us but there’s a POC coalition though!!!!!

But yes AA’s have to keep the money in the AA community and not kick they kids out at 18. Its about planning and shrewdness. We had our own shyt before integrating, nikkas have to fukking realize cold ice is cold ice as long as you have a freezer

For those younger than that, NO.....not a direct, indirect or sneak diss at AAs.

Understood, but the "whinning' trope very much is still valid bc it clearly demonstrates how ppl still very much see Ados: a group to be taken adv of/ competed against, despite the severe gaslighting, and feigned outrage. Success is something that should be earned taken at any expense...reason why a collective laugh should be audible anytime anyone(Ados incl) ridiculously implies or advocates Ados muling aka 'We uhhhh Blahk'!!
