Speaking of games..
Do you ever play Yahtzee??
5 dice.. 13 rolls
Each roll.. you gotta put the result someplace on the board
Until you run out of spots
So you have to be strategic.. sometimes conceding a certain combination is not gonna happen
Or playing it safe vs rolling the dice (literally)
You can pumpfake for first half of the game
Pretending you have a great start
Tick off some big score boxes
But at some point, all the wiggle room is gone and you got to pull off some statistically unlikely rolls.. or zero out!

My wife and I have the yazy app on the tablet we keep on bedside table
First five or six turns, she'll be up by 50-60 points
Like "

im gonna win"
Then she'll start taking 0's and ones or twos on her minor
And I'll pull ahead and beat her 242 - 160 (I only take zeros on 4x and Yahtzee squares)
And shell be like "you cheated !

" or "you got luckier rolls than me

"
Where really, she would have been better off not going for quick grabs
..and keeping some flexibility for later
Now life is
not a game of Yahtzee
You can push the do-over button
If you fail once, you can try again
You can even take ten attempts at a given life milestone
But ife is not infinite
Our 20's last 10 years
You can pretend your 20's last until you are 35
But now your 30s last five years
..unless you borrow from your 40s
Etc
I have been posting here at the coli for nearly five years
During that time.. i have overcome numerous health issues
Gotten remarried
Returned to work etc
And I'm old!!
There are young folk who have been posting here since 2012.. or earlier, counting previous incarnation
And they have evolved less than me
They maybe got a slightly better job
But they still talking about what they gonna do
How they gonna have a perfect wife
A perfect this and that
And anyone else??
Must have settled . Or is a c00n.. or is a simp.. or a fakkit
But meanwhile they are trying to roll a Yahtzee when they are drawing dead
Basically.. people who have failed to appropriately manage their lives
,(And thankfully my wife is better at life than she is at Yahtzee
Point being.. a lot of people are stagnant and chasing goals/dreams that are unlikely
And this drains resources away from other functions
And you might not "just fail" at one thing
But you end up failing at everything
