it's not unusual for FRESH GRADUATES to make $120k+ total comp in SF, NYC, or Boston

SF maybe, but not in NYC or Boston. You're thinking maybe 85-100k.

f you ask me, if a resume is weak, and the salary demands are too high, and he's not even as qualified on paper

He already said he's qualified on paper for the position he's interviewing for, but his salary requirements don't line up with his experience. Hence he's gonna go hard for the first 10-15 minutes of the interview, which is what happens to me all the time because "on paper" I have 4 years of experience. But I've done more in my 4 years than a lot of cats have done in 10-12. Hence when they try to go hard on me in interviews I'm blowing everyone out the water.

Hell, I got more certs and more real-world infosec experience than my current boss. They tried to trip me up but I hit em with the and they had no option but to meet my salary requirements.

That's fine. You have the right to do that, just as if I am an employee I have the right to maximize my worth. I am I supposed to ask for less money because you feel some type of way about my experience.
