I kinda don't believe this story since people don't find out what salaries a person wants until after the interview when you're negotiating offers.

I've never heard of someone posting what they want before they interview.

Usually you have an idea of the salary range of the job you're applying for. And the interviewer asks you what you made at your last job

Lool this nikka is having too much fun with this. You gotta post what the fallout is. You don't want this delusional kid coming back and shooting up the place.

let the OP post some code that he wrote and let you evaluate it

after all he is a 120k dude.....his code must be that pure yayo :takedat: :takedat:

I was a Sr Java dev...but got moved....Im a Hadoop developer now

:ohhh:

Impressive.

We gotta communicate on PMs because I've been thinking of moving my career in that direction (distributed computing). You must be earning major cake. Are you officially a data engineer or do data engineers do something different from what you do. I used to have a homie who was a data scientist and that's how i got introduced to apache hadoop, pig, spark, looks interesting but i'm versed enough in those areas to make a serious stab at getting a job working on or with those tools (at least not yet).

Why would you interview without knowing what they are paying? I always get that information up front.

Having been on the other side of the interview table, fighting for students to get jobs and internships behind closed doors with mgt., I can say first hand you won't believe how many hiring managers/individuals responsible for interviewing talent are just as condescending and self-righteous as OP, it's disgusting.
It's like that Stanford prison experiment. People get a since of entitlement when yu give them a label of power. I remember an interview for a simple part time job that lady acted like she had the world in the palm of her hands how she was acting.

I can't believe the responses in this thread that OP is hating, crabish and whatnot:dwillhuh:

I mean if this was for the Google's of the world, then maybe 120K would make sense. But I mean shyt, he didnt even do computer science. There are compsci graduates probably multiple years in the game who aren't even earning that. Even petroleum engineering grads, when oil was over £100, weren't even earning that.
Thats a slap in the face to every hard working breh out there.

What kinda system are y'all advocating? So we should start just offering handouts just cuz you're black. How would you even know whether that money would even help the black community at large?:youngsabo:
Yall nikkas mayne:youngsabo:

It still wouldn't even make sense. I know plenty of people who work for Google as Devs, none of them were making 120k fresh out of college. (at least in Texas, salaries do differ out west).

The most I know of someone making fresh out of college as a Dev was 95k, but he had years of work experience throughout his undergrad.

But then again like I said earlier. I've asked for crazy amounts of money too. The worst they can say is no :yeshrug:

When you have a stable job and you are job searching, you have all the leverage because you don't need the position. You can toss out whatever demands you want and if they say no... just say aight.
