In his case it was a couple things...dude was an admin for this 3rd party software that the company used....but not many people knew how to configure...so he could ask for that rate....dude was a clown too

We go through the normal pleasantries...I ask where he from...why did he choose IT...what is he doing at his current job,..... blah, blah

Then went straight to it....

I asked from 1-10 how proficient in Java he is 1 being a novice, 10 being a guru ....he said 7

I said "thats impressive...you familar with the new stuff in Java 8?"..he said "some of it...I then said....."Would you mind showing me how to iterate over a hashmap using Java 7 and how you would using Java 8 api"?

He started talking...I said "you can do it on the board "

He got up started mumbling to himself and looking at the floor before he actually started writing.....

What exactly is the job? What do you do?

I did....side note..I hired another breh on the strength of being resourceful. I broke some code...and told him to fix it.....he googled and troubleshooted like a G.....now he eatin

Shoot if people using Google on the job, then I would've done it for less than what you paid the guy. Just tell me what the problem is and I'll Google how to fix it. I may not know how to code but I'm sure Google does.

Ima apply to be a surgeon and be like I may not have a doctorate but I'm sure they got videos on YouTube that I can look up and follow their directions.

Are you ready for that upgrade to the 600LT it's only 250-260k let me help out with my dealer. Or get a nicely used 720's for 40 more, come play with the big boys

on the cs end, i have several friends who made $100k - $140k right out of undergrad... but this was out of the ivy league + uc berkeley. heavy recruitment and ultra competitive for these positions, but they definitely do exist.

$50k - $70k starting should be the realistic expectation for a lot of grads in CS/IT, but you also can't blame a breh for trying
