Basically... I know Allen should go where he can thinks he can get another ring. But he already has a ring with that same formula (even if via trade). So... why would people clap for him to go to the Heat to win ANOTHER ring just because there's an offer there? What's to stop ANY other useful vet from going to Miami once spots open up? Bron, Bosh, and Chalmers are young. It basically sets up to where any old guy who can fill a need in Miami can go there instead of helping another team compete.
Do you not see how that could affect the balance in the NBA in the long run? Not all 30 teams have contending teams every year. No more than 4 do... so what persuades guys like Allen from not heading to teams like Miami when another team could use his talents if offering more money/better contracts to solidify market value won't convince him?
Because other NBA franchises arent charity cases. Ray Allen doesnt owe them other teams shyt. Its his career and if he wants to try and go out a winner thats his choice. The other teams need to work their situation to where free agents will want to go there instead of Miami.
He's against piggybacking moreso than the paycuts it seems. For some, HOW you win matters just as much as anything. With that said, you can't hate on Lebron for any reason, he was the leader of that team we people said he was running from leadership in Cleveland, he carried that damn team for stretches, and did so with an incredible amount of pressure mounted upon him. And regardless of what he says, I'm sure Larry Bird wouldn't have had a single problem signing any of them nikkas at a discounted salary![]()

You telling me if Ray Allen said "I'm going to the Pacers for the vet min" Bird would say no off of principle?
It sounds like he's talking more about guys like Allen (and even Malone, etc) that will leave there team to go to a rival, leaving money on the table to try and win a championship on an already contending team
Shyt.....Steve Nash is no different
Delusional about whatMiami/Bron fans are delusional....![]()
I'm Bothered By Guys Taking Pay Cuts To Try & Win A Championship

larry bird is right though
this paycut shyt destroys the competitive value. theres no reason to have a salary cap if guys aren't gonna sign for market value.
rookie deals are a problem as well. 4 years of slave labor encourages teams to dump contracts and load up on rookies
do they have to sign for market value fukk outta here nikka fukk these old ass salty nikkas don't matter if they white or black im glad that these nikkas are taking control of their own destiny fukk letting gm's ship you wherever they please to get whoever & whatever they want

What it pretty much boils down to is that the young black male athlete is gonna catch fierce criticism for any move he makes that he deems as personally advantageous to himself
10 years ago the comment was "all these basketball players care about is bling, money, and cars they're not like _______ who wanted to win"
