Why would anyone trust you with money if you haven't created any thing on your own?

Its actally really easy to get money if you have created shyt before and demonstrated that you know what you're doing. Like how companies value people who did internships before graduation.

Most mom and pop style stores are obsolete now, majority of brick and mortar is headed that way too.

Its not as simple as selling mix tapes out your trunk or tshirts at the swap meet.

You actually have to innovate, something hive minds dare not contemplate.

Also in most cases you will work LESS at a full time job than you will starting a business.. But everyone wants to be the boss, without putting in the work..

I congratulate anyone that can support themselvs through their own skills and efforts, but not everyone is meant to be a boss

Not everyone is meant to be the boss or innovate but unfortunately in the black community were conditioned and frightened into believing the comfort of a secure job is the end all be all.

Im assuming this thread meant to fear monger and scare people out of an independent mindset.

For other communities their best become leaders that can create opportunities but for us our best and brightest are cool with fancy titles. Its changing with the younger generations though.

This aint the 1920s. So many regulations and laws, starting a successful business that will feed your family for generations isnt as simple as thecoli will have you believe.

Let alone getting your hands on the startup capitol.

But dont worry theres a few geniuses here who will teach you everything you wanted to know

Most of the good business threads i've seen have been in The Root and Higher Learning . The Locker Room isn't exactly the knowledge corner. Different sections have different types of threads. I think some of you who make these "it's impossible to start a business, if its possible why wont someone explain to me how to do it " threads don't venture outside The Locker Room so you assume that there are no informative threads on the whole Coli.

It took me a minute to find those links above. All i did was type in The Coli Business/Entrepreneurship. Some of those threads have good advice, are they telling you every single thing step-by-step and providing start up money? No, but some good advice. OP is another case of a black man complaining about someone not holding his hand and Google-ing how to do something for him. The info is out there, not just on The Coli, if someone really wants to know how. Even more comical that nikkas will complain about somebody not bringing them the info of how to start a business instead of researching it himself (when he obviously has internet access), but they will waste countless time discussing athletes and rappers, random IG hoes athletes and rappers are sleeping with, when sneakers are dropping and which colorways are the best, clothes, music, lamborghinis, etc etc etc

Im a welder fabricator. Im really good, ive done two stainless steel sculptures that sold collectively for a quarter million dollars over the past few months...


The problem is... It takes millions of dollars in equipment to make things like that. Ill most likely never own my own fabrication business based off this alone no matter how talented i am.

depends on what business u thinking about doing......

i know this brother who worked as a truck driver driving under somebody else authority after a year or 2 learning about it, he decided to venture out on his own after saving enough money and finding a couple of clients to haul for....

next year i'm looking to start a small expediting business with one client while still working at my present company.... working paying off my debt so i can get a pickup truck and look at other people ways of doing it
