Im a welder fabricator. Im really good, ive done two stainless steel sculptures that sold collectively for a quarter million dollars over the past few months...

The problem is... It takes millions of dollars in equipment to make things like that. Ill most likely never own my own fabrication business based off this alone no matter how talented i am.

Its not as SIMPLE as you wanna make it. Stop

This is why you partner with someone who has the infrastructure in place.

Do you think anyone who has ever made alcohol had to buy a distillery first lol?

It's 2016.

Little kids are making money independently now.

Its sad to see grown ass men wanting someone to hold their hand and tell them exactly what to do.:francis:

And "business" is a broad term. A business can be anything from a local bar to an online etsy shop selling prints.

You can get it out here, it's not as hard as you think. It just takes TIME. But most people don't have the patience to succeed.

Someone that has the infrastructure would ALREADY have a business :dahell:

I need a laser, brake press, sheer, roll, welding machines, saws, gas, wire, materials... Most importantly contracts... Thats just a start off the top of my head.

Im sure you dont know half of this stuff, but keep explaining how you know more about my field than i do :jbhmm:

best bet is to get a side gig while you work your regular job and then eventually go full time if it gets successful, but yea like you said not everyone is built to be an entrepreneur.. and not everyone needs to be honestly.
Most people aren't built for entrepreneurship. Wish they would just ignore the subject tho. People love to talk down on something they aren't into.

So the ONLY way you can start a business using your welding skills is to make sculptures? Bullshyt. People use welding services everyday, b. If a fabrication business is your ONLY idea, then you're right, you'll never have a business. But I'm willing to bet that there are TONS of welding projects you can take on that will help get to your dream of having a fabrication company eventually. One trick pony ass.

I think most cats here are mistaking a side business that gives them extra money, for something they can do full time and support an entire family off of.
