some people actually dont like to be educated when they listen to music. some people dont like to go on a lyrical journey with their favorite mcees like they use to. this is what happens when all this gen has to listen to is the same beats rapped over using the same 2 flows, rapped over using the same/extremely similar hooks. when all of what you listen to is strip club anthems. then of course when the "puzzle" raps hit the headphones. you will go into a state of shock. your body knows nothing about that poetry to a beat.

It's a struggle song to me, "rain like a slight chance of rain when it's raining" seriously? That's meant to be lyrics on the greatest lyrical display ever? Lol. I don't get impressed by pseudo intellectual shyt or mediocre shyt. The whole Queen bars were awful too, really bad. It's not hate though, it's just an opinion. Unlistenable.

see i would agree with you B-oshh. but the problem is they dont think its good for the same reason "puzzle raps" aka " i dont feel like unraveling the riddles. i just want to party and bullshh(..biggie)."

but i have to keep stating the facts. this generation as a whole. NOT ALL. but most. cant appreciate an album like this because your ears are messed up from all the party & bullshh music you've been listening to for the past 5 years. what do you think happens to a person that was born and raised on party and bullshhh songs? eventually they either start searching for hiphop before their era. stop listening to hiphop altogether or they fold and say forget it... this is all i got. so i'm going to force myself to enjoy it. and thats what has happend. the last part. yall have forced yourselves into loving this cotton candy music. so when some real food for thought comes along with the steak and veggies. its too much for you. shoot, its like feeding a starving african kid a steak out of the blue. he would die eating an entire steak out of no where. you first have to start him slow on oatmeal and then work your way up to steak and veggies.

but truth is, hiphop did that for you. kendrick warmed you up, cole put some more heat on the fire. then lupe came thru and with the hot coals and the bbq sauce. lets eat.

but because the other 2 are not as lyrical as lupe its still too much for yall.

stop it and listen to the music. this is not poetry alone. this is hiphop. it all goes together. music + the lyrics. not one without the other. and dont listen once and report back. listen 20 times then report back.

you my friend have lost your mind with that statement. i'll say this one more time. lupe is a poet. he's doing poetry to a beat. cannibus is not really what i would call a poet. he's a battle rapper, battle rapping over beats. there's a difference. huuuuge difference. and there are songs i like from canibus too.

Why have I? You don't seem to know what you're talking about. A lot of the people who are OVERLY hyping Lupe don't seem to have their Hip Hop knowledge up to scratch and seem to be lacking, this may explain why they are so easily impressed.

More complex than the Lupe joints in several ways and better....
