If he's all about championships, he would take one. Most Lakers fans seemed to be under the impression that he would be taking a cheap deal so they could get bring in stars. If he's still expecting to get paid, there's no reason for them to be excited about the 2014 free agent class.

Who is coming to L.A. anyway? Nobody. And if they did what would change? LeBron can barely win with Wade & Bosh. Carmelo ain't never won shyt. Why get Bosh when you got Gasol? Who else of note is a possible free agent? Rudy fukking Gay? GTFOH. Lakers are fukked anyway you look at it. Kobe might as well eat.

If you say he's selfish, you're either a c00n or a cac. Lol @ nikkas choosing the white man over Kobe. They should pay him 30 mill again for all the revenue he's brought to this franchise + money under the table for emotional distress having to play with Kwame, Smush and Luke Walton in his prime.

You emotional bytchmade Kobe/L.A. Lakers stans are hilarious! Sometimes players have to make certain sacrifices monetarily in order to legitimately have a shot at winning that chip. Read & learn about Dirk Nowitzki, another NBA legend who has no problem taking a pay cut for his team/organization in an attempt to get more All-Star caliber players & attempt a run for another Championship & quit sucking on Kobe nuts hoe ass trick!

They don't make the league minimum and neither have ever been as box office as Kobe Bryant.

Well anyone who thinks he should take the minimum is a retard. I didn't say anything about that. There's a big difference between 30 mil and the minimum. He should take 15mil tops so he can get some help.

If he wants to get paid, good for him. The issue is that if he wants any chance of winning, he has to take less money. If he wants to relive 2006 in a :flabbynsick: body, that will be entertainment for all of us :russ:

Ironically, the same people defending Kobe and talking about free enterprise and profit maximization, etc. are going to be bytching about every dime Jim Buss pinches :heh:

not mad at him about getting his money but yea, you'd be stupid as fukk to give him the max. if he wants to win at this stage he'll take a big paycut

The Kobe hate is becoming as retarded as the Kobe stanning. Why in fukking hell would he take a paycut? Any NBA superstar with a major franchise who sells out arenas during the regular season and playoffs is worth exponentially more than he is paid.

why? because he's 35 years old and no legit contender is going to give him a max contract at this stage. if he wants to win that's what i thought he was all about he'll take a paycut

So how did that go? He took a paycut for his team to miss out on Howard, CP3, Bynum, Josh Smith, etc and now they're gonna sign Dalembert. Shut your bytch ass up. :russ:

Well, I guess Kobe isn't as serious about winning rings as he says.

I'm a big Kobe supporter, but feel whole heartedly he should take $2 to $3 mil next year....

I thought it was all about titles... Oh well, his life.

I actually gotta take this back...

I don't really know all the in's and outs of the luxery tax and all that shyt.... But if they can still sign other max free agents, and kobe still make 15mil, and the only negative effect is that the lakers have to pay a shyt load more luxery tax, he should take em for all their worth:takedat:

I don't think anybody here will really know how all that will go down next season, so really cant speak on it.

Norfeast groovin…
Can't say I blame him but to be real I think this is just talk to not take such a hefty cut. But if he wants this team to compete he'll have to. Not 1 mil like some idiots just said, but between 8 to 15 mil a year is fair imo as long as he's the same Kobe.

Kobe aint hurting for no Cash....

I don't know about you, but I took him at his word when he said "every year I don't win a title is a wasted year of my life".... Pressure from the wife and shyt.... I guess she might put even more pressure on him, to keep bringing that money home... :ehh:

If the nygga want rings, he should play for free if he could... Like I said, if he don't count against the cap, and its just lakers have to pay luxury tax cus of his fat contract, take em for all they worth.

But don't have your wife in the media saying you need to retire, and you say you can't retire you need rings, and then not take a pay cut to benefit the team.

Keep this shyt funky:comeon:

Dumb fukk, Dirk didn't take actually take a pay cut, but he was willing too if Dallas could sign a few of the major free agents available, it's not Nowitzki's fault no one was checking for the Mavericks.

SINY!!
So his team can maximize its cap space to sign players who can help him

Why can't the Lakers sign anyone to deals more than the minimum? Cause Kobe's salary is HALF the salary cap and you can't do shid with one player eating up that much room.

You nikkas talk about the franchise generating revenue. YES, they generate it and lots of it. They have a TV deal and all that. So what? The fact of the matter is you need quality to win and quality comes at a price that is above minimum salary 2nd round picks and journey men to win.

Duncan took a pay cut from $21 million to $10 million. KG did the same thing last summer too.

If Bryant really wants #6 , he should realize the need to put his money where his mouth is and sacrifice for the betterment of the organization to put pieces around him. It really is that simple.

He is delusional and doesn't understand the new CBA. The Lakers will probably work out an extension so he doesn't reach free agency but they sure as hell ain't paying him anywhere near $20 million/yr next contract.

He can't have it both ways....

One of the reasons I believe that Lebron will win a lot more rings, is because he will leave some money on the table to play for a team that can win in the long term.

I've been clowned by dudes on here for saying I think he would take another paycut to stay in Miami and win more.....which I think he will.

Kobe definitely is entitled to maximize his earning potential. Only a handful of guys stay in the NBA doing post-retirement stuff and at a fraction of what they made as players. However though, you cant take up more then half of your teams cap and expect to contend. Plus keep in mind, between Dwight bolting, and these comments....other star players will look at him like " :childplease: what I look like taking a paycut to sign here if you aint doing the same?"
