I realize that this country loves to keep black people deluded into thinking they've made it and pacify us with entertainment filled with black faces. Meanwhile our neighborhoods continue to get gentrified, black people continue to be unemployed at alarming rates, the wealth gap continues to widen...

I mean, I was on twitter yesterday and there wasa report that said that blacks are lagging the farthest behind in income inequality. And that women (yes...white women, when they were discussing this, not all women) would receive income equality in 2054. 20 fukking fifty four.

So by that rate Black people in America will have income equality by 2154.

And there's the cruel joke...who's really thinking America will be around then? THe ship is already sinking as it is. I honestly don't even think America has 50 years left.

The powers that be keep teasing us..."one day you'll have your moment. Not today though..."

That's what they think of us...very little. Look at how Hillary panders to black people as if we're children who aren't capable of understanding adult concepts. That are easily amused by song and dance. What self-respecting black person would ever vote for someone like that let alone support?
:scust:
Black ppl are brainwashed bad....today they still go to church singing and dancing, talking that forgive bullshyt lol

Sad but I've realized that u just have to let ppl burn...black ppl 8 years from now r going to be same position they're in now only thing different will be the beats they use in hip hop...what changed from 2008?

BP really touch the hot stove and been getting burnt for 400 years lol...sadly were just gone zombies... It is what it is..I'm starting to finally accept it

Vote for the simple fact that black folk got their ass whooped, and died fighting for the right. I don't like any of the candidates besides Bernie and if he's not gonna be on there (which he probably won't be:francis:) I'm gon write in my dad or Michelle Obama :yeshrug:
Yep. This is basically how I feel. I feel guilty if I don't vote because of how hard people fought for us to have the right to.

I personally think this country is really doing it's hardest to phase out black people. With gentrification especially...

America had it's fun time with black people, after this election it will be over. @ThreeLetterAgency said that Obama's presidency was an "experiment" I will never forget when he said that....It really does feel like it sometimes. He put the battery in the back of a good amount of black people in America, but still many of us want to rock ourselves back to sleep and ignore the negativity facing us...which is why diabetes and obesity are problems in the black community as well as depression.

I'm just a firm believe or making the best out of a situation cause it's getting real obvious America isn't for us.

As much as I agree with that, sometimes it pains me that so much of our people's blood sweat and tears have been put into a country that has terrorized the world through military warfare, colonialism, and violence.

They would be saddened if they were alive and realized they fought for this...America is not and has never been the good guy.

Why believe in a country that has continued to send my brothers and sisters to death by the police forces that they paid for to protect them through taxes? That continues to disenfranchise and oppress through various means?

Why support this evil? I mean I love my family but I truly hate this country for everything it's done to us and continues to do to us. In an ideal situation, I'd pay for all of us to leave here.

Voting for President has HUGE global implications. That matters and that can and DOES cost lives.

Also, by not voting you have no say in your everyday life. Local elections are far more important to the average citizen. Look at Flint, MI right now.

People for the past 10 years didnt get out and vote for their state congress and governor. So what happened? A fiscal conservative, who only looks at the bottom line rallied up a GOP congress and killed Unions (Right to Work) meaning anyone can get fired in Michigan now for ANYTHING and the employer doesn't even need to have a reason or interface with a union. Also, emergency managers were placed (again because people didn't vote down this law) and put them in charge of Detroit, Flint, Benton Harbor etc....long story short, because the EM is ONLY concerned with the bottom line and not the human cost and is not accountable to ANYONE outside of the Governor dude basically fed poison water into Flint because it was cheaper and would remove power from the Detroit water board.

Now, that seems intense and far-fetched....but its not. If working-class (and lets be honest, Black) people would have voted as they usually do (Democratic) that situation would have been MUCH different. Not perfect, perhaps different problems, but I assure you the city of Flint wouldn't be basically the Capitol Wasteland from Fallout.

So by saying "im not voting" you are saying "i don't give a shyt about how my country/state/county/city is run." But I'm willing to bet you were affected by the expansion of the federal Pell grant program, or the reduction of SNAP benefits, or the government shutdown.....

The 2000 presidential election was decided in Florida by a margin of a few thousand. (In a nation of over 300 million). To say your vote doesn't count is not only misinformed, its woefully plebeian and plays into exactly how the power elite want you to think.

I get your point, and I share your anger. But the issue isn't just about presidential elections (which usually have the highest turn-outs), its the local, ccongressional mid-term, and state elections that people fukk themselves over on. By not voting in those, the ramifications are much more immediate. Imagine if Obama had a full four years of a Democratic congress. There's lots that would not have been stone-walled, funding for infrastructure would have passed, amid many other things.

Its the names you DONT know that you need to know. Know your congressmans voting record, what signature legislation they have and support. I can point to some DIRECT election results and legislation that has directly impacted my life (i.e. the Pell Grant program). Every person in America can do this, its just a matter of knowing who and what it was.

Its not about "supporting" America, its about supporting MYSELF and MY FAMILY and what will be best for US. Or at least, won't make our lives more difficult.

Voting doesnt give one that much say if any in everyday life regardless in these times. This country is headed towards something, and all the voting in the world cant stop it.

Edit post: will concede that local voting does impact one's everyday life

You are right in a way. But the trajectory can change. If you'da told me gays cold get married even 5 or 6 years ago I'da said "no way, the SCOTUS won't pass it"

...but they did. And with Scalia gone ain't no telling what could happen. :manny:

I get your point but the trajectory can change.

I did vote for Obama, strictly for social reasons though.

How is it not true? Under Clinton mass incarceration of black people ballooned to the highest in recorded history and under Obama black people are being legally lynched for the world to see and he's done fukk all to address it.

I really don't understand you guys loyalty to the democrats :dwillhuh:

People died in order for your ass to vote and this is how you repay them? :russwat:

Do you honestly want one of these Republican circus clowns to be the face of our country? Do you want the world laughing at us? No politician is perfect but the difference between the GOP presidential field and Democratic one is like night and day. The Republicans don't want you go out and vote. Why do you think they make it so hard for minorities to vote under their jurisdiction? They know that black and brown can decide an election.
