there's plenty of music out there and these days it's not even that hard to find. hit up a few blogs and sites like the Coli and you will get put up on a lot of new music. it only takes a few mins to check a leaked song or video. there has been some great mucis this year like

(real Aussie Hip Hop fukk Iggy)

.... and there's more

if you can't find SOMETHING you like in there then you're fukked. i don't get into most of the new drill or trap shyt so there's even more to get into

after pac and biggie passed, the whole movement of hip hop ain't feel the same to me. this ain't to say there won't some great albums that came out after that period because there were but the movement changed and the majority of the quality of the music went downhill to me

U sound like a white who never was really in love with hip hop and just rocked wit it cause it was the cool thing to do, no disrespect but fukk outta hip hop

that's not exactly what i said. here's what i said in quotations:

the rhymes are cool when written some type of creativity and wittiness of course but close to the last 2 decades, hip hop as a movement has been some of the most watered down and down right horrible hip hop music of all time. that's not to say it ain't been some good music here and there but across the board as a genre it's been rather redundant and stale

i'm old, i've been listenin' to hip hop since n.w.a. :old:

i came up listenin' to old stuff my mom and dad were listenin' to like curtis mayfield, james brown, santana, marvin gaye, sly and the family stone, minnie riperton, the temptations, sam cooke, the beatles, donny hathaway, elton john, al green, ltd, spandu ballet, fleetwood mac, aretha franklin, ray charles, maze featuring frankie beverly, rufus featuring chaka khan, smokey robinson, dionne warwick, barry white, isaac hayes, the o'jays, teddy pendergrass and the list goes on etc
I hear you. And I didn't mean to twist your words. I was just taking what you were saying to (what I thought) was its logical extension.
I agree that hip hop has been on a steady (sometimes precipitous) decline since about 96. 95 was the last pure year to me...96 was about halfway pure. I'm at a point in my life where shyt on the radio or MTV Jams...90% of it doesn't even appeal to me anymore. But I've got hundreds of classics to rotate through for the rest of my life. Sure, nothing is as good as the first time you hear it...but with all the dope shyt that came out in the 80s to 90s...I'm still getting to classic records I never heard and listening to albums I haven't heard in 10-15-20 years...

The music is watered down but that has to do with the fact that everybody and they mama raps and has the capability to make music and put it out on the net. No region is defined by a particular sound anymore and the best songs on albums are usually the singles when it used to be the other way around. Good music still exists but you gotta dig these days

Hip hop itself is just not growing,it cant keep up with its fans who are maturing and getting older whereas hip hop has remained inane lifeless and just redundant and stagnant..

Good point. But hip-hop still is a young genre, esp compared to every other genre. So it still has time. But the redundancy, the thing people deem as "the thing to do" (rap about, wear, do etc), the demographic etc is a problem, i'm telling yall. Hip-hop is a bandwagon thing. When PE was poppin, next thing we knew alot of people rode that wave (both fans and upcoming artist) and tried to emulate them, next thing when Dre & Snoop came out all of them sounded like them, then Puff, then DMX etc. So everybody - including fans! - are straight up followers. So there's no longevity in the mentality cuz everything is such a "twitter trending mentality". Always been like that. Thats the issue with hip-hop generally having such a young demographic on the average.

But as i said alot of the problems have albums been the fans too tho, not just the business/artist. Look on the net, if you not selling drugs, pimpin, bussin guns etc - all of which we have been used to hearing and some think if you dont fit in that mold you not blazing/"cool"/good etc - nobody supports it. Yet people go all "anti industry" on the net like hypocrites tho.

black love, unity, and music
Theres always good music coming out fam, Mega, Ras Kass, The LOX, Krit, YG, Budden, Rae with his latest project, Gibbs, Quik, Mos Def and Marvin Gaye Blend tape has kept me satisfied and now we got Havoc, Ghostface, new Wu Tang dropping. I don't listen to none of that radio mainstream fukk shyt nor do I rely on them to feed me what I wanna hear so hip hop in 2014 been solid. Fukk Grammies and Platinum Plaques

I read this thread in the voice of the dude in your avy...:russ:

Nobody dropping albums anymore. How many major hip hop releases this year? I cant even name 10. I remember when big budget major rap albums dropped every week. And they all did numbers. The truth is the genre is not what it used to be. It IS dead and beyond stale... there are only a handful of online hip hop discussion boards left and just like here its more gossip than talk about music.

Hip hop will become stagnant when you turn 24-25, just ride with it for a few years and you'll be back to normal. Hip Hop is coming up on about 30yrs in the mainstream, there's enough hip hop to have a 'golden age' if that's what you're looking for.

This right here :salute:

Cold part is muthafukkaz fail to realize how much hip hop is really out there they haven't discovered or had a chance to peep over those years:damn: :damn: Bruh, I damn near have every original tape and CD back when them shyts was hittin the record store. EVERY muthafukkin coast. AND there is STILL shyt I've been wanting to go back and peep that I ain't never heard. A lotta cats done lived and experienced the hip hop equivalent to Motown, bruh, them eras are gone. We celebrate the past classics on this site, in real life, put muthafukkaz on that might have missed the good shyt. The new era of hip hop, it is what it is. Personally I STILL can find shyt to rock with in this era:manny:
