after pac and biggie passed, the whole movement of hip hop ain't feel the same to me. this ain't to say there won't some great albums that came out after that period because there were but the movement changed and the majority of the quality of the music went downhill to me
I hear you. And I didn't mean to twist your words. I was just taking what you were saying to (what I thought) was its logical extension.that's not exactly what i said. here's what i said in quotations:
the rhymes are cool when written some type of creativity and wittiness of course but close to the last 2 decades, hip hop as a movement has been some of the most watered down and down right horrible hip hop music of all time. that's not to say it ain't been some good music here and there but across the board as a genre it's been rather redundant and stale
i'm old, i've been listenin' to hip hop since n.w.a.
i came up listenin' to old stuff my mom and dad were listenin' to like curtis mayfield, james brown, santana, marvin gaye, sly and the family stone, minnie riperton, the temptations, sam cooke, the beatles, donny hathaway, elton john, al green, ltd, spandu ballet, fleetwood mac, aretha franklin, ray charles, maze featuring frankie beverly, rufus featuring chaka khan, smokey robinson, dionne warwick, barry white, isaac hayes, the o'jays, teddy pendergrass and the list goes on etc
Hip hop itself is just not growing,it cant keep up with its fans who are maturing and getting older whereas hip hop has remained inane lifeless and just redundant and stagnant..
Theres always good music coming out fam, Mega, Ras Kass, The LOX, Krit, YG, Budden, Rae with his latest project, Gibbs, Quik, Mos Def and Marvin Gaye Blend tape has kept me satisfied and now we got Havoc, Ghostface, new Wu Tang dropping. I don't listen to none of that radio mainstream fukk shyt nor do I rely on them to feed me what I wanna hear so hip hop in 2014 been solid. Fukk Grammies and Platinum Plaques

Word dats the first sign of an inauthentic cacU sound like a white who never was really in love with hip hop and just rocked wit it cause it was the cool thing to do, no disrespect but fukk outta hip hop
But I've got hundreds of classics to rotate through for the rest of my life. Sure, nothing is as good as the first time you hear it...but with all the dope shyt that came out in the 80s to 90s...I'm still getting to classic records I never heard and listening to albums I haven't heard in 10-15-20 years...

Bruh, I damn near have every original tape and CD back when them shyts was hittin the record store. EVERY muthafukkin coast. AND there is STILL shyt I've been wanting to go back and peep that I ain't never heard. A lotta cats done lived and experienced the hip hop equivalent to Motown, bruh, them eras are gone. We celebrate the past classics on this site, in real life, put muthafukkaz on that might have missed the good shyt. The new era of hip hop, it is what it is. Personally I STILL can find shyt to rock with in this era
