false. Prem didn’t play mass appeal first 20.

:mjlol:
Jay would get exposed for latching on to popular artist of those times to stay relevant. Most of those tracks are hit off name recognition alone. Drake, Kanye, Beyoncé, Migos, Kendrick, future, Ross, jeezy, Rihanna, Alicia keys, Justin Timberlake.

‘We just playing collab records now”:russ:

How is this Jay latching on to stay relevant? Most of those are artists featuring Jay not the other way around.

people gravitated to aEmpire State of Mind due to Alicia Keys hook not Jayz and that’s a fact. BP3 is low tier Jay album even though it’s his most successful in the modern era.

Those Nas tracks and far from mediocre.

Jay success post TBA in terms of hits are predicate on popular guests/features.

Nah, Alicia put out a version of "Empire State of Mind" that doesn't feature Jay and it went nowhere.

Popular features don't guarantee hit songs.

Naw, Jay was riding waves/artists throughout his career.

From Biggie, to Kanye, to Beyonce, to Justin Timberlake, Linkin Park, etc..

Hov was chasing hits and relevancy.

While Nas was still puttin out quality music like Distant Relatives, Life is Good, Untitled etc.

Alicia’s hook is cheesy and exaggerated. Jay killed his verses. At the end of the day people loved that song then and will enjoy it today with the nostalgia.

Those songs are mediocre. U can’t hate Jay for being smart and for being a boss and aligning himself with the right people. U can’t act like Nas hasn’t collaborated with some of the same people to less success. U also can’t act like Jay’s own name doesn’t hold weight and like his contributions don’t add to songs.

Story of OJ is much better than Nas Album Done.

Y’all are delusional.

With the lists you gave, Nas wins that but your Jay list is ass. At least half of your Jay songs need to be subbed out

What do you think it means? :troll:

The "culture" of hip hop, Nas is winning, as he's widely considered the better rapper.
the "culture" of "clout" "business" "popularity" Jay Z would win, since most people bring up his status as a "boss" more than they do his music.
