I think his point is that you play your position so well that you transcend everyone else that plays it. Compared to other players at other positions who might not transcend everyone else to that degree. When Randy was on top of his game, the cover 2 was basically implemented because of him. Randy was by far and away the most dangerous receiver in the game, was there anyone else in the nfl who was that much more dangerous compared to everyone else at their respective positions?
