I'm trying to buy a Wireless router. Brehs what should I look for specs-wise?

For me, if I were buying another one, I'd look for
  • Wireless AC support
  • Gigabit ports (should be almost standard)
  • Most importantly, DDWRT (and to a lesser extent Tomato) compatibility.

I have the ASUS RT-AC87U router and it's pretty dope. It's pretty much no maintenance.

I have an att router....what benefits are there with getting a standalone?

I've got the same one and I've had no issues, consistent, supports multiple devices connected without issues. Expensive but so far it's been worth it.

Got mine as an open box for $150 from an Amazon warehouse deal. Still had the plastic on it :banderas:
