It's a damn shame that rappers can't even live anymore without being type casted into a role or absolutely shytted on before they even start. This dude clearly has some rapping ability and he's still young. In an age where rappers are blowing at 23-26, can this man have the chance to even show what he has to offer before he gets completely written off? :aicmon:

If you listened to Training Day and listen to GKMC or Section 80 you wouldn't even think some dude named K Dot was capable of that. I'm just saying artists change over time and there is absolutely no reason to assume he is going to rap like this for the rest of his career

Whats wrong with fukking with 90s rap?
I don't get it, I was a stan of Michael Jacksons thriller, Jackson 5 and shyt when I was a a kid and that was years (and decades) before I was born. And I love that shyt to death. Today I fukks big time with Parliament-Funkadelic, Marvin, Al Green and all those dudes and that was far before I was born too.

For all we know that might be all his family plays in his house, just like Asaps mom was a Rakim groupie.

Dope art is timeless.

you're making too many excuses breh.

dude is a hipster, nothing is wrong with 90's rap...but call a spade a spade.

you might love music from the 70's but i guarantee you aint walking round today dressed like some Cooley High nikkas everday... and dikkriding the 70's because you're pretentious and believe it makes you that much more original and better than everyone else.

so now, this mixtape is considered timeless music like Al Green?:whoo:

I can't believe that cats are really hating on young cats for fukking with the best period in hiphops history.

There's a difference between appreciating, being inspired, showing love, and then trying to be a outdated modern carbon copy of something that came and went :comeon:

So a dude can't appreciate music from another era because he wasn't born around that time? :snoop:

Were all of the records, interviews from the 90s and whatnot lost in the y2k bug?

think about this breh... it's 2012 if a dude was still stuck in 2003, still rocking 3x tall tees, airbrushed air force ones, headbands, jerseys and NBA Logo leathers... and still sounding like 2003 rappers did.

we'd say he's corny/ outdated as fukk, no questions asked...and no arguments would be made for why he isn't

why exactly is it original, and cool if it's a 17 year old kid obsessed with the 90's?

No anyone can be inspired by dope music like Al Green or Nas or Rakim or whoever whether you're born 1952 or 2002.

And that style is fashion whether you listen to new music or old music, the clothing style is fashion like instagram it's a trend just like cats wear Jordan 3s, snapbacks etc.. But cats have been fukking with old music since forever. Kendrick Lamar is dressing in old school fashion as well and even sampling old school tracks. The clothes is fashion and his taste in music is what he fukks with.

are you aware of what hipsters are? and the things they do?

it's like you're completely unaware of this subculture that's very heavy on the internet.

I heard people complaining about how the younger generation doesn't appreciate the generation before them or pay homage so thats why he gets props for it I'd guess. It's like how my pops would be amazed if he caught me listening to some of the stuff he grew up on when I was like 12 or something:manny:

if you read the initial post in the thread i made... i clearly identified him as a hipster...cause that's what he is.

put it like this, if Joey Badass is from anywhere other than NYC/ East Coast... nobody gives this dude any type of praise on the level he's gotten.

NYC dont wanna let Boom Bap die, and has been trying to bring it back to the 90's for years now...

I know all about hipsters, and not to act like one but it being a thing is almost completely dead. Dude fukks with old music and that's that.

If we go by pitchfork, yes they might fukk with him but they fukk with Freddie Gibbs and Killer Mike even more. He's like a normal New York kid like Asap and all these other dudes.
