KRS One was not relevant anymore(sorry) and Nelly was one of the hottest artists in the country at the time. Only one way for that to go.
It happened again last year.
Joe budden lyrically beat the hell out of Drake. No one cared.
Rise of the south was done by MTV2 IMO.
They literally force fed the nation videos of mike jones,lil jon,david banner,paul wall, etc 24 hours a day. Eventually the market shifted.

A year late I know, but you could’ve at least named artists that weren’t actually making good music how you name them, but not name D4L, Jibbs, GSBoyz and all that garbage coming out of Dallas

No joke, i randomly went to this lounge in long beach 6 years ago at 4pm and when i popped in, krs one was on stage performing. I was like this some special hip hop event? Nope. He just randomly did a handful of songs, took pics with white hippies/back packers and then bounced.
