Nelly was huge. One of the biggest rappers ever.
But he was never taken seriously (i.e. in discussions about who the best rapper was). And I don't think he gave a single fukk about that.
Huge miscalculation on the part of KRS. He still thought it was 92 and he could catch Nelly in NY at a show and throw him off the stage. But in 2002 hip hop had already lost its artistic integrity. Any criticism of anyone for anything was viewed as "hating".
