funny how those early games matter for Lamar even though they werent his fault but Allen playing like ass against the Ravens and getting blew out and his 9-30 game against the Texans get swept under the rug

one guy had the 3rd highest QB rating off all time and became the 1st player to lead the league in passing & rushing yards per attempt

the other had 10 wins against teams with a losing record and his signature moment was having 6 TDs in a loss

:francis:
Just how it is breh. Media practically crowned him MVP after losing to the Rams but playing great and then beating the Lions.

Lamar had to play perfect to steal it from him. Almost did.

Last year was the year to deny him if you were going to do it. His stats weren't all that great he only had the narrative of him beating all the other candidates H2H / top seed.

Now they're punishing him due to "voter fatigue" when he deserves it more. Or holding playoffs against him.

Award loses value the further they dive into narratives
Yeah, you're right; however, last season, Lamar made it to the AFC Championship game, which likely influenced the voters that he turned a new leaf, moving in the right direction, so they awarded him, and it raised the expectations for this season.

They gave him the benefit of the doubt despite his stats not being great.

This season, he lost in the Divisional Round in a game where there were a few disappointing plays on his end, which they probably felt was a step back and thus couldn't reward him MVP again.

They “punished” him for losing.

If Lamar had made it to the AFC Championship or at least a Super Bowl appearance, I think he would've won MVP again.

Yes this is typically what happens when you lose your two main offensive weapons and don't replace them with talent, hence why most had bills being the 2 seed in the aff east. Allen had a great season when you considering the weapons he has down the field, he also had the best tov% in nfl history as a qb. On the other side ot the field, his defense was mediocre they were 19th on 3rd downs and just ss bad on 2nds. Either one of them could have one, no one should be mad at either
Bruh stop talking bout Gabe Davis like he helluva nikka :mjlol:

They replaced him wit Keon Coleman, Amari Cooper and Curtis Samuel who are all at the same level or better than dude

Well then, they think Josh Allen has next.

The narrative of Josh Allen has risen this past season as we've all seen the ranting and raving about his “game”. The only other quarterback in the AFC that media heads believe is close to winning a championship not named Pat Mahomes is Josh Allen.

For the past few seasons, Lamar was second in that category, but his Postseason failures and the bias set against him, the perception of him being a future champion, has taken a dip. They view Josh Allen as on the rise while Lamar is on the decline, not statistically or in terms of talent but in the sense that he's not a winner in their view. They see a winner in Allen, whereas they don't see that in Jackson so he's being docked based on perception.

And Lamar's team added Derrick Henry. Yet Lamar had less wins than Josh

People forget it's a narrative award. Allen had the better narrative
they added Derrick Henry but lost their DC,best pass rusher, allpro LB,leader in INTs,3 starting olineman, both RBs,and Odell

but I guess adding Henry was supposed offset all that

the narrative that Josh lost more than Lamar was media created bs

all season they acted like Josh was playing with bums to prop him up to win MVP

Not only that, but on an annual basis the ravens are 32nd in the league in money spent at receiver and their top tight end had a slow start this year from being in a car crash during training camp or the preseason.

Josh has had the ball in his hands the last 2 seasons with the game on the line and failed but hes the guy "they see as a winner"

make it make sense
