I go to a $50,000+ year university( a school I don't even want to be at) with a major I don't even want to work in. I woke up today and asked myself, wtf am I doing in my life? I seriously don't even want a job(:dame:)My plan is to start my own business and I have been researching it for the past year, but I still don't know where to begin. I've been told the best way is to just start.

I'm just stuck man, I feel like I'm trapped in a fukking box. Just constantly waking up early learning shyt idgaf about and never going to use. Seriously how do people do this? I feel like a slave and I'm only 19. I don't want to live my life doing something I don't want to do. I don't want To wake up and the highlight of my day is laying in my bed. It's weird because I know I'm just wasting my time, but I keep believing it's going to get better, and at times it does and I think this isn't so bad. Maybe I'm just burnt out or maybe I'm finally realizing that college isn't for everyone and a 9-5 career isn't for everyone.

I just need some advice, on anything really. Whether it involves your own personal experiences, or business advice just anything is helpful at this point.

Stay in school until you have viable back-up options. There's no benefit to dropping out if you don't have a back-up plan.

Think about transferring to a less expensive school you feel better about, and studying a major you feel better about. It will take the sting off staying in school until your other options materialize.

Explore trade schools and vocational programs, they can be a strong alternative to college.

Also continue to explore your passions and develop your business ideas. There are a lot of resources for business owners so utilize the internet and get your knowledge up.

Be aware whatever you end up pursuing will require hard work if you want to be successful... good luck breh.

Thank you breh, I plan on transferring and have already started looking at other schools. I've also been reading a lot of business books and been trying to get a better understanding of finance. I'm ready for the hard work, I just know that if it's something I don't like I won't give a full effort.

What aspect of finance are you interested in?

If you're not sure then at least transfer to a cheaper college (unless you have a scholarship and/or rich parents). That's some serious bread to have to pay back, especially if you don't think you'll even use the degree.

50k a year:dahell: How are you financing this?
I kinda agree with the finding a cheaper schooling alternative at the very least
My entire university schooling (every semester, books, rent, food, etc.) for a bachelors probably costed 50k :dahell:

If you are in a STEM major and are getting stuck then seek help. If your school is 50k /year then the degree is probably a coveted one and will help you get respect (and raise capital for your business) as a serious entrepreneur when school is over, plus you would have something to fall back on. STEM fields almost guarantee job opportunities at good wage levels right out of college. Businesses require capital to get started and you are going to be putting in crazy hours to run a successful start up. No matter what you do it is going to require very hard work and long hours so don't think starting a business will allow you to escape the hamster wheel right away. Da hustle never ends.

My first year they gave me alot of scholarship money, but took away like half of it this year. I'm definitely leaving.

My problem isn't doing the work, in fact i'm looking forward to it. The grind that goes into starting a business and running it successfully is something i dream about. My issue resides on me feeling like i'm digging a never ending hole with nothing at the bottom, and i blame no one but myself. I told my family i planned on starting out in community college until i felt like i was ready to pursue what i really wanted but they forced me into believing i have to start at a 4 year university(Haitians :snoop:) . Now im doing nothing but collecting thousands in debt for something i dont plan on using. My plan so far is to transfer to a wayy cheaper uni. Work and stack up as much as i can. read, grow, and expand my knowledge and grind my way to the top. Im expecting failure, but i want accept it.

Hate to break it to you but you're only 19. You should go to school and get some practical work experience.

Have fun getting loans with no meaningful tax returns, pitching business ideas, and generally having adults take you seriously at nineteen.

If theres a will theres a way. I get what you're saying though.

Gotta reiterate what the good breh said above.

Definitely transfer to a school with lower tuition and switch majors. Try to take courses relevant to what you'd like to pursue.
