its pretty arrogant to think earth is the only place with life, considering there are millions of planets, why would we be the only ones?

this is a logical fallacy. just because there are millions of planets, does not mean that there must be life on them.

they didnt have an air force and nuclear weapons :heh:

they could be on the other side of the universe and haven't seen us yet i just doubt were the most advanced civilization in the universe. i'd venture to say we're prehistoric compared to some.

our intelligent civilization has been going for 20,000 years, just to be safe. the universe has been habitable for about 10 billion years, even if 1 other civilization came into existence 2 or 3 billion years ago just imagine where it is now.

its impossible for there not to be life out there and extremely improbable there's not more advanced.

everything you've stated are predictions without a basis. there is no reason to believe that we are not the only ones in this world, just as there is no reason to believe that god exists. the evidence simply does not support your argument. mind you, i am merely a skeptic, and i make no claim that life doesn't exist on other planets.

show me the proof.

well im not gonna sit here and do statistical analysis, but if you believe in math, its safe to say its statistically impossible for more advanced life not to exist.

bold statement but i doubt u find any reasonable astronomer who'd disagree.

im gonna need a few hundred maybe thousand years for some physical proof though.

Have you seen prove of life anywhere else in the universe?

There are is trillions of tons of Hydrogen and thus, stars and thus, star-stuff (other elements).

But how abundant is life? We may be the most significant thing in the entire universe.

that's my argument. we're special, until proven otherwise.

i do agree that we are special in that our planet was one chosen to host life but just the size of the universe says theres's millions if not billions of other civilizations with intelligent life.

my theory is theres a teeming intergalactic community all around us, but we aren't yet scientifically advanced enough to join. maybe in a few thousand years when we prove we won't all kill ourselves in war and we make progress enough to travel the universe we'll be accepted.

You're pretty much an idiot if you dont believe there's life out there. I dont even know how many planets there are but, just looking at this picture on the last row, that's everything :ohhh: and that's only the observable portion :troll: Its an arrogant notion to think its just us out here :wow:

I think there's some kind of super intelligent intergalactic community out there too. An intergalactic U.N. and they've been watching all the fukked up shyt we've done for the last 5,000 years like :dwillhuh: We're not meeting them anytime soon.

Sometimes when Id get high as hell, Id think shyt like "what if the big bang wasn't the first big bang" :dwillhuh: "what if humans were some violent, bloodthirsty people 500,000 years ago and they killed us off, then threw us in timeout in a part of space where we wouldn't be able to contact anyone else for a few millenniums"? :dwillhuh: "What if they've been watching us this entire time but, we can't see them because they're on a higher plane/vibration. We can send nuclear bombs from one side of the world to the other, wouldn't you assume a race 100,000 years ahead of us could construct aircrafts/vessels that could fly so fast we couldn't detect it? :whoo:

OBSERVING ANYTHING OVER A PERIOD OF TIME AT GREAT STELLAR DISTANCES BECOMES PROBLEMATIC, BROTHER! FOR EXAMPLE, IF YOU'RE JUST A THOUSAND LIGHT YEARS AWAY FROM AN OBJECT, THE OBSERVABLE INFORMATION YOU HAVE FROM IT IS AT LEAST A THOUSAND YEARS OLD BY THE TIME IT REACHES YOU, DUDE! AND IF ANYTHING HAS FIGURED OUT HOW TO TRAVEL FASTER THAN LIGHT, THEY CAN REACH A DESTINATION POTENTIALLY BEFORE THEY LEFT, MEAN GENE! SO A UNIVERSE LIKE STAR TREK OR STAR WARS WHERE EVERYBODY ON DIFFERENT PLANETS IS TALKING ABOUT GALACTIC EVENTS LIKE THEY'RE HAPPENING AT THE SAME TIME IS NOT REALLY PLAUSIBLE, JACK! ANY "SPACE UNITED NATIONS" THAT SPANS MULTIPLE STAR SYSTEMS IS GOING TO HAVE A STRANGE AND EVEN ABSURD RELATIONSHIP WITH TIME COMPARED TO WHAT WE'RE USED TO COMPREHENDING, BROTHER!
