One of the best moves he made was wife up Beyonce.

Hov best move was accepting the challenge of going his seperate ways from Dame. Beyonce was best for his dyck [pause] and wifing....but not for his career...Hov is able to rip a hole in the wall spot in BK and then go smash a non-rap friendly festival like Glastonbury, solo without his wife. Beyonce don't need Hov and vice versa

Media push is like no other.

They make it seem like he owns half of the Brooklyn Nets, he owns 15% of 1%.

The sports agent "deal", CAA does the real work and makes the real money, Jay-Z is like a hostess. But, the media makes it seem like its just him.

And Im not hating in no way, these are some examples of the Media push he has.

I agree with chefmate7days, Beyonce has a lot to do with it.

The media is full of shyt. However, to minimize a dude's accomplishment as he "just" owning OR his partners does all the work is a damn shame. The constant variable in both business moves are Hov who is getting opportunities that "more popular" rappers today, are not. It gotta be more than the chorus, they respecting his mind now

Nas has done the same thing. He is just not as good as Jay at doing so.
No, nas hasn't put as much effort as jay. You don't see nas putting out full albums with jay like material past nastradamus.

What? A full album of flops? He already did that.
Yea ages ago. Past that nastradamus album he hasn't even come close to putting as much effort as jay popularity or business move wise.

You want to know why that is?

Because Jay has a larger and more diverse fanbase to cater to.

Not to mention Jay expands his fanbase everytime he drops an album.
Something Nas does not do.

Nope.full album. Both albums have songs with features and super producers:manny:

So i'd say they are attempts at mainstream.

That's a stretch when those same features and super producers are used to make nas own style and not cater to the mainstream styles.

U can actually make the argument that Jay is

Def catered to timberlands sound...def catered to an Amy Whinehouse sound...def catered to and Keri Hilson sound.

U can actually make the argument that Jay is attempting to be less mainstream than Nas:ohhh:

I mean...he hasn't even dropped an official single for MCHG:ohhh:

I went through the album and Nas has his usual shyt on there. He hasn't changed his formula on it. The usual nas with a tiny bit of mainstream like songs.

Jay hasnt dropped a single yet he got Samsung to do that deal which is even worse.

Hero is a nas sound? :ohhh: Summer on smash is a Nas sound? A reggae collabo album is Nas' sound? :heh:

Also...Jay didn't have to do anything with Samsung. Jay has had 13 successful number one albums:ohhh:

The few mainstream friendly songs. The same formula for many albums. :ahh:

All those 13 albums backed by his music industry moves. :bryan:

Kinda like the industry moves Nas is making by working with Timbo, doing and app like jigga, as well ass doing a duet album like Jigga?:ohhh:

Don't get me wrong, they're gonna fail. But thats his MO. He tries to be like jigga, but fails. Has tried to have commercial albums like Jay. Fail. Tried to have a successful duet album like Jay. Fail. Tries to be a successful spokesman like Jay. Fail.
