There is no hate here. I just know that jay came into the popularity lane and miked it so he stayed relevant now and even did business moves to stay on top.

Rappin about car, money hos, making a label, rising off of biggie and even marrying beyonce. He was all over this popularity game and you as a Stan don't even kno it. :ahh:

I also think its funny how you gonna try to connect nas to the mainstream when nas raps, beats and even topics barely have any catering to the mainstream whatsoever.
Popularity lane?? Da fck that even mean? Every rapper comes in tryna be popular..

Nas was spittin urban street tales, the ****** title for his album got him maad attention for that album..same thing with Hip Hop is Dead..He basically echoed what alot of mufckaz was sayin bout hip hop at the time..and he marketed the album and himself as such...

Nas is about his business too..stop acting like he's not

Nas always tries to make a hit just like every rapper in the game...ur just mad Hov is to best to ever do it playin the game

Your critiques make no sense and its clear they dont to anyone with a working brain

WHat the fck are topics catering to the mainstream??

When in most people's eyes Pac was one of the deepest mufckaz in rap..yet the most popular also..what i you sayin

Kdot is one of the hottest rappers rii now...will u say the same for him?

nikka make sense please

I never heard a Nas & Drake song, Nas & Kendrick song.
Yea Jay does hop on the latest artist songs if their hot. I think that's one of the way he stay on track and branch out to an untapped audience. I have a cousin who's 20 who never owned a Jay album when he heard that Kendrick remix he started asking me about his music.

So doing a track with two artists(that take their craft seriously the most in this generation) who specifically stated that Jay-z was their favorite rapper and the greatest of all time is dikkriding?

i never heard a jay and meek, or a jay and tyga song.......we can keep going on wit this if u want to

Getting on a song with two rappers that see you as an Idol = dikkriding
Getting on a song with an artist like Tyga that you have zero connection with, artistically or affilation wise = keeping true to hiphop (or something)
Man, Nas is incredible, love the dude but I see why people find his die hard fans very nauseating.

Nas hasn't tried to hit the mainstream ever since nastradamus. :ahh:

Nas came in with his storytelling lane saying his views on everything staying away from the lane of money cars and hos. He was the one standing out from the rest and saying hip hop was dead while jay followed the crowd with his usual shyt.

Jay jumped into biggie and puffy and rides off of biggie even after he was gone, he also jumped onto Swiss beatz as well and went or the usual money cars and hos topic and even made a label amd rode on dame dash and not to mention he married beyonce of all people. All of this was him riding on trends.

Don't even bring up pac when 2pac wasn't riding the mainstream lane as much as jay. :ahh:

Jay-Z has been making garbage music for the last 10 years. How does he stay relevant? It's because he cries and makes excuses on every album why he raps the way he does, etc.. Constantly giving his fans the argument of why he still here. "i would rap like common sense" etc i heard all jigga stans recite that line but it's just BS.

Couple things that helped Jay. Married Beyonce, dropped all artist on rocafella, all the top producers work with him on his albums,he RESPECTS THE WHITE MAN! They know they can just throw him pennies and he'll be happy saying he owns the team. He plays it safe and makes n!gga music with no positive message at all. How can anyone listen to this n!gga after all this time and not realize he rap about the same sh!t over and over. His name should be bragadocious.

What was daughters?

Are u delusional :what:

Did u listen to LIG?? Hell even early Nas spit about money cars n hoes..he just tells more stories.....

Like i said..Nas isnt worth 200mil..without tryna hit mainstream...

:dead: @ this "rebel against the industry" image u have of Nas

Ive never seen such a delusional mufcka in my life :deadrose:

Contraversy sells...Nas basically did what Hov did with DOA for a whole album...
His album got attention through controversy which is what he most likely was lookin for...until the controversy got too real and he had to backtrack n sht :rudy:

Like I said...nothing ur sayin makes sense..Nas backtracked to maintain relationships with the southern artists who were hot at the time(Jeezy and T.i ) and he successfully did that and had collabs with them

nikka stop being a childish retard when it comes to these folk...all of them are bout their money and being succesful

nikka aint no "rebel to the industry"

They using the industry to progress as images of black success and I salute both of em..but fans like u needa get they kufis smacked and realize reality :snoop:

When Nas was trying to build buzz for LIG

He hopped on every YMCB album, he also was on CB album

And if I'm not mistaken he was on Melanie Fiona album

Trying to expand his fanbase no different from Jigga

I honestly think the biggest difference between Jay and Nas is that Nas is so one dimensional. He's mainly just a storyteller. Whereas Jay is talented enough to be great in storyteller, as well as various forms of raps.

That's why Nas comes off as boring and so un-charismatic and why is singles with other mainstream acts flop.

Jay did what any successful rapper turned businessman did...

Had someone do all the legwork for his original deal ( Dame )

Start a record label where you are the leading artist and make sure your records, promotion, comes first ( Rocafella )

Never show up to any of the major stuff that happens at Rocafella dealing with money ( Dame is doing the numbers crunching )

Start brown nosing upper Def Jam management, get in their good graces, get high ranking position ( Def Jam pres or ceo or whatever the fukk he was )

When a project does good ( Rihanna ) make sure you put your name all over it, when a project does bad ( LL ) make sure your name is not on it anywhere

Flip that position into you actually being a businessman, open your own business ( really have a team of old white men behind you do all the work and slap your name on it ) and perpetrate like you have some business acumen ( 40/40 Club, Rockawear, Favorite hue is Jay z Blue  )

Claim you own a bunch of stuff you don't ( the nets) and know a bunch of people you don't ( Obama ) to further your celebrity

Ride that wave of dikkriding anything that is hot out...

Rinse and repeat...

And I can't even hate on Jay cause I work with cats like this in my regular corporate job...plenty of cats setting at the head of a board or are a CIO or some figuerhead at a company and they don't even know where to scan their badge to get into the building...

The rocafella blame dame a thon stuff is really interesting to me cause I had a friend who was doing accounting for Def Jam back then and he told me about the whole Roc falling out thing way back before it even happen.
