when he got with B his fame sky rocketed, plus for the casual/non-rap fan he appears greater than he is.
Discredit Hov for what? Being a trend hopping dikk rider? Jay-Z hasn't done anything original in his entire career. That Samsung thing was unique but it's a gimmick. Doesn't show popularity at all. It's a gimmick a good gimmick nonetheless, but still a gimmick.nas also TRIED to ride the keri hilson wave with hero(on a polo da don beat no less).. he tries to do mainstream songs theyre just not accepted.. dont get me started on that trash with chris brown and the game on HHID

"Hero" was dope, but the chorus ruined it. "World Go round" was alright, but that's not what Nas' fanbase wants to hear.
Jay-Z's fanbase is comprised of dikkriders. He has some hold over from whne he was good rapper but for the most part it's dikk riders , trend hoppers and wannabes who "support" Jay-Z.

Rappin about car, money hos, making a label, rising off of biggie and even marrying beyonce. He was all over this popularity game and you as a Stan don't even kno it.
I also think its funny how you gonna try to connect nas to the mainstream when nas raps, beats and even topics barely have any catering to the mainstream whatsoever.

nobody has time to tell you all the shyt his dikk rode, but from biggie/puff on vol.1 to the dikk riding swizz/ruff ryders vol.2 to etc etc and even outside the music he dikk rides.
so its a knock on hov that younger generations want to work with a legend? no one has ever wanted to work with nas other than game..and lupe(who never did)
