Im sure my iPhone is more customized than ANYONE's android device on here.

after some hack came out that allowed you to circumvent Apple's restrictions. Try buying an iPhone 6 and customizing it like that today. if you're lucky the jailbreak for iOS 8 and the iPhone 6 will be out earlier than a couple of months before the device is gonna be replaced with iOS 9 and the iPhone 6s.

i bought the iPhone 5 on release day and it couldn't be jailbroken until after the 5s was out.

I think android still has more features that a lot of people NEED...but I have to agree they HAVE to step up hardware design now. The new android L is supposed to move from dalvik I heard too...which should make it more....ahem...smooth on the level of iOS operation/animation wise.

I have the iPhone 6 and I'm scared to get rid of my gs5 because I use a few featuresy iPhone doesn't offer still (shobox with Avia and chrome cast/Ir transmitter/etc)

Samsung HAS to come with it hardware wise to go with that new android 5...I see mad people selling the 5s and gs5 for iPhone 6 lol. The hype is real and even though I love my iPhone 6...it shouldn't be THAT hype...people are goin crazy for it lol

They need a complete overhaul of touch wiz looks wise and get a new designer for it that focuses on simplicity and intuitiveness as well as eye candy animation wise. Ios8 just flat out animates and looks prettier and that goes a long way as shallow as it seems

Every time I get into a debate with a apple head what do they always talk about? LAG And smoothness...animations/transitional animations have something to do with that amongst other things like touch response. That little bit of more polish is a big reason people get annoyed with android even if it does have more features. I ain't been on the iOS side in a long time until now and i got reminded how more polished operation wise iOS is in comparison to my gs5 (even though touchwood) plays a part. My nexus 4 wasn't this smooth either though...can't front

I've only been back on Android since the S5 came out. A year and a half with an iPhone 5 and I never noticed the transitional animations. Perhaps that's what Google is addressing in Android L.
