how about if you had it for half the year-basically 6 months without it :patrice:

I got this from this site: How long can I be uninsured before I have to pay the individual mandate penalty?

Three-month gap = penalty for all three months

If the gap in coverage is one or two calendar months, it’s exempt. But if it’s three calendar months, there’s no exemption, and you’ll pay a penalty for each month you were uninsured. So a three-month gap in coverage would result in a penalty equal to one-quarter (3/12) of the total annual penalty. You do not get an exemption for the first two months of the gap if the gap extends to three months or longer.

Man im kinda mad..i thought i would be getting at least $2k+ back this year because im filing my son for the first time. But im not. I made like 47k last year but they only took out about 3k for federal( because i was switching my dependent s for a lil) it said ill only get back around $1500 for fed and nothing back for state. Im thankful im at least getting that back instead of owing like last year..

but i was hoping for more because i finally get to claim a kid. But this year im not fukking with the dependants im claiming 0 the entire year so i could get a lil more back next year.

Are there any loopholes or deductibles i can put on there to boost my shyt up a lil:feedme: i file my own taxes instead of giving them people 2 to 300 to file, so i dont know if theres anything else i can do to finessse a couple more hundred up out em.

i set my withholding to 1 and get about 7-800 back. whats the alternative, set it to 2 for a few months and try to get it as close to 0 as i can? doesnt seem worth the effort :yeshrug:

everyone should move their witholding from 0 to 1 though, leaving it at 0 is fukkin stupid
Why u say leaving it at 0 is stupid? I thought the more they take out the more u get back

exactly :heh: so why let them take a bigger chunk out of your paycheck all year, just to "give you back" more of your own money at the end of the year

it's like my dad says; there's nothing heroic about getting a tax return :dead:

Tax refunds are YOUR money, it isnt a gift. Banks arent giving out interest free loans. lets say you get 2k back

that is 2k you could have used to pay down debt that HAS interest or invested the money, create a ROTH IRA, and so on

that is why you make your filing status the number that will get you as close to 0 in your tax return as possible and keep YOUR money in YOUR pocket

shyt well too eachrs own than.. I would rather have a bigger chunk in january every year rather than getting more throughout the whole year and blowing it every check. Its better your way if you saving it i guess.. shyt i know one chick getting back 15 bands. You know how easier it would be to save after getting that nice refund.. Now u wont even have to touch your checks at all and let that money stack..fukk around and have 40k+ saved up easy after that. Everybody different tho.
