You are not balling out of control, but 50K is in no way a failure.

Like other brehs and brehettes have mentioned you should look at the average income of a single working class American. You’re doing better than most people.

The real issue is the federal government needs to get inflation under control. The price of everything is getting absurd while wages have been relatively stagnant for decades.

It would be controversial, but I think the feds should take a look at capping how much certain sectors could charge for a good or service. Sometimes markup is 300-500 percent more than it costs the company to make the good or deliver the service. You see this a lot in retail.

That capitalism only really benefits a few select entrepreneurs, owners, CEO’s, etc. Everyone else is fighting for the table scraps. You got Fortune 500 companies paying people 8 to 12 bucks an hour which is a travesty in my opinion. That pull yourself up by the bootstraps shyt sounds fine in theory, but capitalism wasn’t designed for the working class person to get ahead.

The Coli hates this logic. They all about landlords, scamming practices, and low wages while CEOs "deserve" bloated bonuses.

50k is solid if u dont live in an expensive city. Like in the midwest if u single no kids u living like a king

Sounds like you want more for yourself though.

You can level up op :salute:

Edit: also a few other thoughts if you live a minimalist lifestyle you can live quite well with 55k.

Some people actually don't want to get caught up in the "grind culture". There's more important things in life than keeping up with the joneses and chasing money.

Ask yourself do you feel fulfilled. If you are you are winning.

One part of it is coming from a normal job and the other part is helping my moms business. I’m not necessarily working two jobs, since I work about 6 hours with my mom and I’m Just there making sure the employees don’t do anything dumb so it’s not really work.

Am I good or should I feel pressure to advance the way I used to feel in my early 20s when I was married with two kids.?

the other job is being a security guard at an empty parking lot all morning telling homeless people to scram M-F

Life is a journey breh. If you've been making 55K for 10 years then I'd say yes. But if you're making 55K after years of making 30, then you're on a good path. The day people learn to stop comparing themselves to others is the day they achieve real freedom. Good luck.

You should be looking to expand your moms business so you can bring in more money. If the busines is trash, go ad start your own business. If you as a man aren't working two good solid jobs you're lazy inho.

Easy job for anyone to do and make good bread is truck driving, ups delivery, TV mounting busines, etc. Just way too much opportunity out here to be broke right now
