Is 89k a year enough to make it in NYC?

Cornfields, cows, & an one stoplight town
Rent depends on where you live. It can vary widely. Definitely check around to comparison shop by neighborhood.

If you live frugally, don't have a lot of debt, live in a less gentrified area, and don't try to eat out/hang out at the clubs a lot, you should be fine. If you drive a car, go ahead and take $400-600 off the top right now. I'd suggest ditching it unless your job depends on having one.

My moms used to pay 1200 a month to live in a small ass apartment in the worst ghetto in long beach. LA aint no better.

There's big lofts in downtown la for around 2k. Being from sf that shyt is a steal, u can't even get a broom closet out here for 2500$ :sadcam:

Tdot.. till the death of me
this nikka probably just submitted his resume a few min ago to a job that pays 89k and decided to make a thread

so you mean to tell me you went through the whole interview process for this 89k job ( which is likely an intense process), waited, got a reply, got a job offer..and now your wondering if you should take it?

why go through all the process if you not sure if you would take it

I know why

because its :duck:

I suppose it depends on your lifestyle. I make a little more than that in Iowa (and my wife makes close to that), and we could still probably use more money. I mean, I don't think about bills or whether or not I can buy something ... but I am not stacking thousands every month, even though I live in a relatively low cost of living area.

A lake near Tampa FL
lol I love my city but don't tell a young black male out-of-towner to move to Newark. :usure:

Maybe Kearny or Harrison if you wanna be close enough to transit and have cheap rent.
Cheap rent in Harrison? Whenever I ride though there on PATH I only see those fancy luxury apartments, and the rest is industrial.
