Yeah, it is. You get to a place where you think about how much "more" you could be doing with your life. It's the cyclical and ironic nature of it. Everyone is working for the weekend and shyt only to start the same monotonous process again in two days; and to be frank Sunday isn't even really a day off because you spend all day thinking about Monday. Moreover, if you're 25 and let's say you live to be 70 that means you have less than 2,500 weeks left in your life. I mean, what the fukk am I doing? :gucci:

It's the micro-managing, it's the politics, it's the not owning the means of production, it's the remuneration or lack thereof, it's the opportunity cost all in one fukked up pill you have to swallow everyday. :wow:

I'm going to law school, but even that shyt has me like :patrice: when I think about it. It's not what I really want to do. It's practical, though. I truly want to go film school, but I'm scared I'll end up making Russell Westbrook highlights on Youtube and shyt after film school :wow:.

It's a cold game out here. *shakes sunflower seeds in hand before tossing them back*
Law will take away all of your happiness.
Hope you're going to HYS and gunning for SCOTUS clerkship :wow:

You a nurse? And did you get a choice to work pm or am

Yeah I'm an RN and I've had my license for a year. The position I took was night shift which gets you a little extra money, but I much rather sleep at night than have those few extra dollars. Night shift is really chill you don't really have to interact with a lot of people other than the other nurses and techs. You really only call doctors when something serious happens and you need an order or you want to send them to ER. Most of the time the doctor's rather you text them anyway.

Nursing is cool man it's just women's attitudes be getting on my nerves sometimes. I'm mostly used to working around men and women are way more emotional and chatty patty than I'm used to. Right now I'm just trying to get experience and grow as a new nurse. I want to start working on my BSN either this year or the beginning of next year. I know if I want to travel and work in bigger cities then I'm definitely going to have to have that BSN.

Most new nursing graduates end up taking those night shift positions because day time is what I think most nurses prefer. It's way busier in the day time and it makes the shift fly by. Plus people probably rather sleep at night than during the day such as myself. I feel like if I don't change my diet and get in the gym I might be dead in a few years. I picked up 25 lbs in 6 months and I just feel unhealthy. Too much fast food and eating out of the snack machine got a ninja feeling. :flabbynsick:

We all work because we have to, we get that, but you're time isnt your own. You don't control your schedule, your life, or your money. That's the whole soul crushing aspect of a regular job life. Add in travel and it's even worse.

We supposed to be happy to get 2 week of our own time back to go on vacation. And we're supposed to be grateful for that:rudy:

Every right to complain, a cashier doesn't earn a liveable wage yet has to work 40-50 hour weeks. You'll never hear a firefighter complain, they work around 100-120 days of the year, most still operate under the 24 hour shift with 2 days off right after. They get healthcare and a pension, if they work long enough they get a full paid month off which if you time right means you work 70 days of the year.

What cashiers are working a full-time job?

Firefighters don't make a livable wage and no one is trying to risk their lives everyday for what they get paid.

People working at Costco, walmart and any number of those big ass stores? :wtf:

Bruh, don't apply what happens in your state to firefighters in mine, they make around $100,000 here after 5 years. My friend been waiting on a callback from the department for years, when he took the written test there was something like 2000 people there that day and that wasn't the only testing day. The misconception on their job is comedy too, most of their 24 hour shift is going to answering false alarms, you been watching too many movies if you think they all running through 5 alarm fires everyday.

Sounds like its easier to run for elected office and win than be a firefighter in NYC

The median income in the US for a firefighter is 45k so I stand by what I said.

People aren't normally fulltime workers in retail unless they are management.

He didn't apply for FDNY, he tried for a city outside of it, where he'd still make $100,000 after a few years.

You said they don't earn a livable wage, you were wrong even if you go by the US since the average household only makes around 9k more than that. Nevermind the fact they are only working about 100 days of the year.

THUNDER BUDDIES
I ACTUALLY LIKE MY JOB SO NAH. THE ONLY THING THAT BOTHERS ME IS THAT I COULD BE MAKING MORE MONEY BUT IT WOULD BE DOING SOMETHING I REALLY DON'T CARE FOR. MY BILLS GET PAID SO I'LL JUST STICK TO BEING HAPPY FOR THE MOMENT.

100 days too much.

I actually know a guy that quit being a firefighter to start his own business

You can't romanticize being a firefighter bruh. Its desirable if you have no other options like going to the army(Army even gives you more options and advantages tho)

:dead:

Stop trying to talk about where you live, I'm clearly talking about Firefighters from large cities that make good money.

100 days of work, $100k...only on TheColi is that kind of money vs days of work not desirable.
