worked a salaried job making damn good money but ran into the exact same situation. Changed my whole outlook on work and what I really wanted out of life. Got the fukk up outta there after 6 months.

yea I'm at the end of mine. Bout 3 months left and I can step down to my old position and make just a little less than I make wit this salary job, and I would be hourly, do my 40 hours and go home

Anyone that tells you that you're wasting your time working a 9-5 is a broke weirdo who lives at home and doesn't work for what they have or they're an entitled person who was handed everything.

I blame the rappers like biggie and jay and others for glorifying the hustler lifestyle to the point where it was looked down upon if you worked a regular job or worked for someone else. A whole generation of kids were raised believing money by any means necessary yet they weren't encouraged to go out and actually work for it first.

I'm in nursing school so nurses have 12hour shifts I think it's great but im Afraid down the line when I have kids I won't be around so much

Depends on what shift you get am or pm. I'm on PM and nights seem to having me get older over night. I can't properly sleep during the day time at all.

I don't think I'll ever honestly be happy working because someone is always getting on my nerves. It's never the actual patients either most of the time it's the co-workers. People are petty, envious, and full of shyt 9 times out of 10. I'm just going to keep my head down and grind fukk the bullshyt.

People who complain about a 9-5 never had to work a 6-6 night shift. They never had to work manual labor, they never had to work in factories and warehouses with immigrants that can't even speak English. I would kill for a 9-5. shyt I'd kill for a permanent job period. You don't know how lucky you are

This. Did consulting as an intern for a minute, and until you wake up at 6am with work already to do, spend the day drafting and bookkeeping, only to have to write a grant for federal money at 11pm, as soon as you get back across town to your home, you don't know what soul-crushing work is like.
Working 80-100 hours a week with random assignments thrown at you is soul-crushing.
BigLaw is soul-crushing.
A 9-5, even of the most monotonous work, is not soul-crushing.
Wake up earlier, hit the gym and have a breakfast, grab a book for lunch, pull up an interesting forum at work, when you have breaks throughout the day, find things to do. At 5, you have your time fully back, most people enjoy spending time with their family.

My homies that just graduated all hate it and seem miserable. Just makes me more sure of what I want to do. Trying to be an entrepreneur. Work hard as shyt for myself. At least it will be gratifying

A lot of people don't realise "owning a business" requires a lot more than 40 hours a week, with a lot less money likely coming in after overhead expenses.
Dudes will say "jump off the corporate train and start a business" as if business won't be 75-80 hours a week.

My only issue with 9-5 is I feel like this is not how we were meant to spend our lives. Think about it we spend more time at work than we do with our family at home. Thats fukking insane to me.

I actually like my career but I sit and think, what about the nikka who hates his job? What is his day like?

Waking up at 5:45Am cause he has an hr commute just to get to work on time

He cant get a seat on the crowded train, probably didn't even get breakfast

Walking into the office saying hello to a bunch of people he doesn't give a fukk about

Wanting to be left alone at lunch time but he eats with with his coworkers because he doesnt want to look "different"

2PM hits hes counting down the hours till 5

His boss who he probably is smarter than gives him some bullshyt work

5PM hits he rushed out the office to a crowded train

7PM hes home and gets some dinner

10PM he's back in bed tryna sleep to do it all again

Aslong as my work is done I dont get any phone calls
Happiest i've ever been
Going to do the same job in the same place doing the same set hours was soul destroying for me
