Wanted to see how the brehs studying for A+ are doing. I'm currently about 80-85% done with studying for the 1001, Meyers videos are getting a bit difficult just because his visual aid/style of talking is easier to get then Messner, I feel there still is a sense of "I guess you expected us to know this" w/ Meyers, noticed he assumes the viewer knows stuff THEN teaches the subject however the stuff he assumes isnt really common knowledge at all.

Thanks for that breh. I been seeing Messer A+ 1001 videos too. I did notice that they had something called IT fundamentals. Looks like its just the basics. Do you guys think thats important or not worth bothering with or maybe just looking thru it to get some unknown info and general basics?

Don’t even look at the IT fundamentals. A+ will teach you everything you need to know(And a little more) on the basic IT front.

what's the bachelors?
I feel that will be up to you. Once you're in "IT"...I mean whatever company you work for you're under their IT department lol, you can begin to narrow your specialization(s) with certs. I liked working help desk for smaller or resource scarce businesses, like the government, because you get to touch a lot of areas...hardware, software, web design, networking, etc. Whichever part you like the most, you can see about getting certified.

MCSA/CCNA

This is a good path too!

You can get your A+ after passing the class or do you have to go take the test like the rest of us

Do you see yourself doing this long term? Do you remember what they’re saying in class?

Tbh man, I do and I don't. I do because some of the concepts I surprisingly already know and we had a "quiz" just to check in and I got a 6/10 and I hardly pay attention. It's a lecture, straight from Comp Tia book so he started with Hardware, hexidecimals, day 2 was Control panel cmd commands etc and goes chapter by chapter. He also wants us to watch Prof Messer videos after class, Today is Troubleshooting.

For me, there's the fact that after I take this class and get two certs I will supposedly be help desk and only make 45k which I currently already make and have been making for like 4 years no growth. I heard the big money is when you get more and more certs. know 45k isn't too bad for the average person but I live in NY and in the hood.

I'm conflicted because I know it's a lucrative field but my attention span, want and need for big income right away is a deterrent
