No excuse breh. Every superstar in the NBA makes it to the postseason consistently. Just a few years ago they were a 3 seed in the East. Jason Kidd retired and the team hasn't been right since. And the next year it was basically the same team. That says more about Melo than anything. And for the record he had mad talent around him in Denver
So Melo had a 6-months-from-retirement Jason Kidd and you expected him to win an NBA title?

He had Iverson for a year and he was supposed to win a title?

There isn't a player who has dealt with shyttier coaches and had less talent around him in the last 20 years than Carmelo Anthony.

I can only imagine what these brehs were crying about when Kobe was dealing with Smush and Kwame. Shoot. Melo's dealt with that for his whole career.

Im not talking about him winning a ring. Just making the post season. Think about it breh: 40 year old Kidd was on the team and theyre a 3rd seed in the East. Kidd retires and the same exact team cant make the playoffs period. That's sad.

And he had a good team and coach in Denver. Especially from 08-10

He is about as effective as a #1 option as Allan Houston in his prime was.

He is not a #1 option and the Knicks should not have signed him.

I would happily trade Love's bum ass for Melo :mjcry:

How would that work. Three ball dominant players don't work. Someone needs to take a step back on offense and do all the intangible things. That's why love struggles right now. I don't see Carmelo or LeBron doing it. I can't see Kyrie doing it even if he tried.

1. Meaning a better and more dynamic scorer/player in a physical sense.

2. Yes, I've seen him play in NY, NJ (1993) and Washington, but not at Utah, NJ or GS. I'm :flabbynsick: breh, but not that :flabbynsick:

Bernard's injuries robbed him and the fans of a dynamic career, when he was on he was on, when he was off, he still was on. What could've been. Despite missing so many games he still dropped over 19,500 points and had a year of 33ppg in the mid 80's, and 28ppg in 1991, the year before he was forced to retire. Boy was great.

1. I disagree even by your definition. IMO explosiveness describes a players combo of speed, athleticism, and power. But it can also be used to describe scoring ability as well so I get where you're coming from now. That said...BK was not a more dynamic scorer than Melo. Melo is elite at every offensive basketball skill. Handles, long range, mid range, face up, and post. BK didnt have Melo's handle, range, or face up game.

2. Likewise.

Melo was :flabbynsick: a few of his Denver years so that's his fault. If he were more mature back then, like LeBron was, then his potential could of been so much more. Chris Paul would have made Carmelo's life so much easier if they were together and I'm pretty sure they would be in the Finals. Melo needs a point guard like CP3 to get him over that hump

You know SF doing everything is fairly new? Dr J, Adrian Dantley Elgin Baylor...these were not assist men. That's what your PG is for. Even someone like Mash wasn't racking up assists til his career was over. Like I've always said, Melo is an old school SF, so put him with a PG or legitimate scoring option. Chauncey Billups averaged a career high with Melo and made WCF.
Historically here's been more SF who can get you 4-5 APG than not. At least out of the GOATs.

Eh. Most of this was his own undoing. He kinda picked to play with less talent. Like 3 times lol
I agree that he should have waited and signed with NY rather than push for the trade.

But let's be honest here.
It wasn't like the players the Knicks traded for Melo would have been all that great. Most were "meh" at best.

The only real opportunity he passed up was Chicago. And look at that franchise now.
