What white collar feild are you trying to get into that doesn't require specialized training or knowledge? Besides a government job doing administrative or clerical I can not think of one and I dont really see clerical as professional.

Let me correct myself and focus on my initial thought, when everyone has a college degree it becomes a standard. What I'm saying is now a days having a college degree doesn't set you apart from the median quality applicants considering that a degree is the standard. Which is backed by you statement

I know people without degrees that have positions in companies that require one. moving up in companies is still a possibility if you play the game right................. oh and then theres nepotism

when i used to worked retail...we had ppl that had master degrees...bachelors, phds....shyt is sad...we had so many bright ppl making 9 dollars an hour
