Be careful tho. A lot of houses are mad cheap because they were foreclosed on, you don't know what kind of back taxes you might have to pay.

You might think you're when you buy a house for a few thousand until you find out that you are now responsible for the $30k in back taxes the previous person owed.

This thread is straight bullshyt...they have forced all the nikkas out of the city. All of the lil cities that surround the city have now been infiltrated by hood nikkas. Last Summer I went to fireworks in Hazel Park, Romulus and Allen Park and all of them had nikkas acting a slam fool. The inner city is really like a damn waste land these days.

I put my kids in Madison heights schools last year and that shyt was damn near all black nikkas breakin In lockers and bytches cuttin each other and all that dumb shyt

Not so sir, I personally think that with more big stores like that the more the surrounding community will try its best to emulate the new success. With a store like that you have add-on stores. Meijer's gets bulit then boom, Finish Line accross the street, Petsmart down the way, Chipolte or Qdoba

Look at what happened when that K-Mart left the plymouth and southfield location...all of those other small spots over there couldn't sustain and thus many of the residents felt the impact. When a area shows it can sustain retail people built around it....

I grew up on that east side, not all that far from Grosse Pointe and I think (when I was in like elementary school) my moms tried to get me into GP schools at one point. They were pretty much like .

Like others said before, you may owe back taxes, but I'd still look into purchasing a home in Detroit, definitely Baltimore. If you make decent money, then dropping 1-5 k a year is a strong investment, especially if it's a multi-family. Seriously contemplate acquiring one of those cheap homes. If not a revenue stream for you in your lifetime, certainly for you or your grand-kids.
