Smh it's way better than inconsistent ass Vol. 1 and Vol. 1 is one of my favorite Jay albums with some of my favorite Jay songs...

C'mon son, Take Care was at least a 4 Mic album, a great work :heh:

To answer this thread, Drake is Jay's son. Drake is to this generation what Jay was to his generation...
To take it further.

Take Care will be talked about like the Blueprint.

Views will be talked about like Vol 2

How is Take Care inconsistent, I'd remove 2 tracks out of 20. I'd remove Make Me Proud and We'll Be Fine, they aren't bad songs just average filler.

In My Lifetime has I Know What Girls Like and Sunshine :scust:

Vol. 1 wasn't even well received :what:
lets compare the best songs from both projects :sas1:

:what:drake has like 10 sunshines on that album. Thats why you shouldnt compare jay z and drake when it comes to the music, both different styles.

vol 1 got 4 mics in the source :sas1:

When I listen to TC, I only listen to the intro, lord knows (ross renegade), cameras, the real her, look what youve done, and the ride. The rest is in the recycle bin :whew:

Views was number 1 for 13th straight weeks and is currently #1 again. If people was still buying albums like in 2005. shyt would be crazy.
You can't compare streaming to album sales.
One Dance was #1 for damn near 3 months this year. Only Elvis did some shyt like
Not a rap record.
Drake has has more top 10 records than Nelly and more songs on billboard 100 than any rapper outside wayne and Jay z.
Isn't the number of songs on the hot 100 a result of the rule change where all the songs can get on there as a result of steaming? Those songs should have an asterisk next to them.
Drake has the record for most songs on the billboard hot 100 at one time (20)
Again, only as a result of a rule change.
Drake is with wayne and Jay z as most songs to chart and he did it in less than half the time of these 2.
And directly as a result of the rule change.
Oschino and Peedi were on Drink Champs saying Jay z would straight up steal songs they were working on and not even feature them on the song.
You saying he took their rhymes?

This past summer The RIAA has now ceritifed "Country Grammer" 10x Platinum. Nelly Joins a Historic Class of MC Hammer, Biggie, Tupac, Outkast and Eminem as the only rappers to go diamond.

So why isn't Nelly bigger than Jay z? Jay z never did that?

Nelly had a 2 album run.

Drake has been the biggest thing in rap from 2009 to now.

Drake has had top 10 hits every year for 7 years.

Who can say that other than Wayne and Jay z?

Jay Z has more muti-platinum albums than Nelly does plus only 6 rappers have achieved Diamond status in history, it's obviously a very diffcult thing to do for a rapper. Jay has a 5x Platinum and Three 3x Platinum albums. Also the billboard chart rules have changed. Drake lives in a era where album cuts can chart where Nelly and Jay come from era's were only singles could chart on the main charts. I never said Drake didn't have hit songs, I actually gave him props for that.

I said that wasn't the only one factor, other factors put him below Nelly overall and he's defintely not near Jay. Again some of you are holding on to "Singles" as if that's the end all be all. Nelly, T.I. Ja, 50, Luda all have had more than enough success to see Drake career. Oh yeah MC Hammer's "Hammer don't hurt em" had a longer reign at #1 than Drake's "Views" and it was much harder for a rapper to be pop in the late 80's and early 90's than it is today. So let's stop acting like he's doing what's never been done before.

"MC Hammer please don't hurt em is the longest reiging #1 Rap album in Billboard History at 21 weeks. It was also the very first Hip Hop album to go Diamond"

TML- Plat
TC- 4x Plat
NWTS - 3x Plat
IYRTITL- 2x Plat
WATTBA- Plat
Views - 3x Plat

Are you saying Ja & Nelly? Did it that strong for that Long?

And if you are saying it was harder for MC hammer to do what he did and harder for Nelly to have multiple hits chart.

You have to to Views going 3x plat in 4 months is incomparable.

But once again you are focusing on stats to bolster your argument.

Where is Nelly & Ja longevity?

Where is Nelly Summer 16 tour?

Country Grammar - Diamond
Free City - Plat
Nellyville - 6x Plat
Da Derrrty Versions - Plat (I don't even know what this is :russ:)
Sweat - Plat
Suit - 3x Plat
Sweatsuit - Gold (Nelly got three plaques out of one album :russ:)
Brass Knuckles - Gold
That's 8 years.
Drakes at 6.

And Nellyville went 4x plat in less than three months.
I guess Views ain't as incomparable as you thought. :russ:
And people actually had to go to the record store to buy it. It wasn't preloaded on their cellphones and free to listen to.

A lot of those numbers are inflated by the new streaming rules. But I'll let it slide due to inflation. Here's a fact for you:

Nelly's first certified album: 2000
Nelly's last certified album: 2008

=8 years

That's 8 years of success at the bare mininum. Let's look at some of the other rappers I mentioned:

50 Cent First certified album: 2003
50 Cent Last certified album: 2009

=6 years

Ludacris first certified album: 2000
Ludacris last certified album: 2010

=10 years

T.I. First certified album 2003
T.I. Last certified album: 2012

= 9 years

Ja Rule first certified album: 1999
Ja Rule last certified album: 2004

= 5 years

KanYe West first certified album: 2004
KanYe West last certified album: 2016

= 12 Years

Again Drake is in their teir, he is not in Jay Z Teir which is a GOAT Teir. He's not even better than Kanye West so please. Just so were clear:

Jay Z first certified album: 1996
Jay Z last certified ablum: 2013

=17 years.

Drake has had success since 09 but he has not be the "Top" rapper for 7 years straight.

10 Sunshines? :mjlol:

At the time there was bias in The Source. Vol. 1 was panned by most other critic called a fake Bad Boy album and criticized for "selling out".

Ross renegade? Just know you're in the majority Drake spit 32 bars and sonned his haters on that track.

No Under Ground Kings, No HYFR, no Crew Love, no Headlines, no Shot For Me?

:mjlol: drake spit 32 bars and it was nothing special, he got overpowered by the beat and sounded out of place. Drake would kill that beat now though since his delivery improved. Ross actually sounded like he belonged on that track

and yes I know I'm in the majority :heh:

:usure: You know what I meant by 10 sunshines. You think people wouldve been ok with jay making a song like crew love or take care? You can't compare jay and drake when it comes to music, drake a completely different artist who sings and doesnt make complete rap projects.

Those songs are ok but they can stay in 2011. Definitely not listening to Headlines, HYFR or shot for me in 2016. :manny:
