So nobody want to jump in this convo and take it a larger audience on Twitter?
smh. I get so disappointed in this forum sometimes.

y ll complain that no one carries that same energy when it comes for fighting for causes onlline as they do offline..but when someone does...it' obvious you don't care.

You just want somebody to do the things you wish you could do and then support them when all of those things are done and reap the benefits afterwards.

you'
rather complain about things than put action into changing those things. it'. like you love to complain and be victims and not want solutions. you dont got heart like me
:wow:
I'll add to it and share :tu:

If you aren't afraid to get in your feelings on twitter and like and retweet some tweets help me make this discussion VIRAL! :salute:
The next goal for this is to start having roundtable discussions here in NYC with producers DJs and fans alike on diversity in electronic music in lieu with issues such as gentrification, racial discrimination, gender discrimination, and more.
I already have several people in mind for this panel...but I'm looking for the input of more.

:salute:

let me tell you another thing....I do not want to be that black man that tells a young black kid to not pursue what they want to do cause it's "for white people". Representation matters This is our art our culture. take a stand for something.

You might not care about it but I do.
I'm organizing a blackout of EDM for 2018.
I'm telling up and coming producers don' even waste your time producing for rappers who won't pay you. learn how to DJ...hustle that EDM crowd...get that paper.

We should be going all around the world banging model hoes in Berlin and having house music festivals in Nigeria and Ghana and Kenya!

I want to create more opportunities for young black men and women outside of the shallow grave Hip-hop & R&B has become!

the term EDM in general is vulturish and started by the powers that be (festival promoters, advertisers) to neatly package up already existing scenes, water it down, and sell it to idiots

electronic music has been around longer than most of us on this board have been alive, and some of the genres were literally started by black people , or a mix of black and white people who wanted to escape from the grind of society and just dance and have a good time. go look up who all the techno OGs in detroit were, go look up what color all the house OGs from Chicago were, go see who all the Jungle OGs from London were, the hoods they came from and what they looked like

"EDM" - the modern term as we know it, is a cash grab and is hated by anyone who had had roots in the scenes i mentioned above, white or black, and was around to experience real electronic music and rave culture from the late 80s to the early-mid 2000s

"EDM" is the gentrified version of the rave scene. the whole entire world is fukkin gentrified

those who cant distinguish between modern day social media era EDM and the actual electronic music with roots planted shouldnt be commenting. those who think "electronic music is for them..." shouldnt be commenting; a lot of that shyt was started the SAME way hip hop in the bronx started, by the SAME class and race of people

black people are still making and DJing electronic music. theyre just not making and spinning the top forty bubblegum trash EDM ala Martin Garrix, et al

when the WMC comes to Miami in march, go see what the DJs look like. at the real parties in hotels, venues, etc.. NOT at Ultra. guarantee youll be surprised at the diversity and demographics
