Lots of people hate on Giannis for no good reason. It's not like he's acting all arrogant or disrespecting the game or whatever either, he literally just goes about his business.
No one said a thing about Giannis until the Nets series. You guys always go overboard with this him against the world shyt when you like a guy. He entered the playoffs with no expectation that he should win the title this year. He had the whole world telling him to leave Milwaukee. There’s like 7 guys who played in this playoffs who had actual detractors and he wasn’t really one of them - the Nets big 3, Simmons, PG, CP3 and Gobert. He just happened to be the two time defending MVP and DPOY in a series where Kevin Durant clearly looked like the best player on the court and Giannis referred to him as such.

The Bucks coach gets 80x the Giannis slander. And yes, people will talk about injuries in the most injury-ridden playoffs for superstars ever. The exact same way they do it for the Suns. It’s no surprise that the two teams who suffered the least injuries and are healthiest are about to play in the finals. War of attrition. You guys need to just say you fukk with Giannis (as do I) and stop this are we ignoring his greatness angle. Like what do you expect following a series where he played a New York City team in the highest rated series of playoffs and the takeaway is that if Joe Harris shot 33 percent that KD would have beat the Bucks by himself?

The Bucks are now the favorite and will be considered a flop if they DON’T win. No one seriously expects anyone left to beat them.

He's the Bucks best and most consistent player but let the haters tell it he has no "bag":mjlol:

2x MVP for a reason and if he wins that chip this year y'all nikkas gon be so mad:banderas:

He doesn't have a bag compared to others with a bag. He has a wallet. But when he opens that bytch, opponents tend to get the work. So it is what it is.

To answer the question yes. And I think it has to do with the fact that Milwaukee wasn't expected to get this far this season.

It's crazy how the perception of him would be a lot different if he was not seen as a wing by most (e.g., KD, Bron) but as a big

I mean.... I think it has more to do with his poor FT and 3PT shooting. I don't think people actually see him as a wing. God knows I don't, I basically consider him a center who's super Mobile. Jokic and Giannis are the genesis of modern day center's in today's NBA imo

Brehs have been talking about Giannis for years :francis:. Don't know why you're ranting about the Nets series, to be honest I don't really care about either team anyway. And Giannis is nowhere among my favorite players.

He's actually slightly overrated. Middleton has been the big time performer for them in the key moments this post season. See last night's game. Giannis has just been his regular season self and the Bucks have the best team out of the healthy ones left.

Even those tweets are clearly struggle admiration posts. Numbers look underwhelming. But the NBA's gotta push their biggest star left.

Said it the last couple years:

For all his flaws, give Giannis the same luxuries given to other stars known as “winners” (top 5 level superstar teammates and/or super teams), and best believe he’ll wreck everyone on his way to a title too.

Granted, he still doesn’t have that particular luxury but Middleton and Holiday have kinda taken turns being that reliable 2nd option on a game-to-game basis.
Exactly.

And Middleton doesnt have to put up 38 every night for this team to win. He just gotta avoid the 5 for 23 or whatever it is shooting nights.

Khris gets 20+

Jrue gets 15+

That will always give the Bucks a shot because you know Giannis is gonna get his 25+

And what Khris and Jrue can give you on the perimeter defensively cant be understated. Sure, Trae will get his, but the key is not letting Bogdanovic and Huerter get theirs.

The bolded is the thread-starter's point. His regular season self has won MVP two of the past three seasons, and he's done so with numbers that aren't ho-hum. People are looking past that. He may be limited offensively but he is not ordinary.

It didn't matter if Giannis was going for 30 and 12 every game against the Nets. The story pushed was can KD drag the Nets to the next round. I saw hardly any mention about the Bucks mollywhopping Miami in round one.

Now, everybody is wondering if Trae Young can move this scrappy Hawks team past the Bucks like they are some sort of juggernaut. No one is really talking about how steadily excellent Giannis' numbers have been.

he's actaully having a great postseason. But it's overshadowed by:

his horrendous FT shooting
the crowd counting to 10 every time he goes to the line
beating an injured nets team in 7

Basically, narrative.

Paul George is a meme, but, it's starting to get to a point that people act like he's Nick Anderson.

He should an inspiration after breaking his leg like a twig, coming back like this.

He's holding it down without his number 1 teammate.
