It's funny how the major religions work. They start off with kooky ass "prophets," Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Zoroaster, Muhammad, etc. who are probably just undiagnosed schizophrenics or people suffering from delusions who come up with these wild ass stories about being sons of supernatural beings or riding on flying winged horses or whatever and they generally mean well. They get people to follow their :duck: and then usually some political power broker who might not even really believe in the shyt realizes he can assert power by co-opting the :duck: for their agenda. Then it spreads like wildfire and becomes a powerful institution with millions of followers. If anybody came up with any of that shyt nowadays, they would be called a crazy cult leader, and rightfully so.

Yes, the Christian God is. Not all clergy members are rich. What if you have a small church?

Manmade concept born out of an innate curiosity to explain the unknown...used for many purposes throughout history including love, generosity, hate, fear, and control.
couldn't have said it better breh.

the only reason its persisted this long is that people indoctrinate their children with the same beliefs they hold. If everyone let their children grow up to make their own informed decision it would never work

there prob is a god but it would be nothing like we imagine.
Also, I wish we could do away with the word god, because it describes nothing, everyone has a completely different idea of what god is

imo, I think universes and subsequently life are created through natural processes and that there are probably tons of other universes. some meeting the conditions to produce life, others lifeless.

Simply put yes

The mechanisms and the purpose of life are not one and personally ive gone from Muslim to atheist to theist to Muslim all by the grace of God and the more I look around at not only the composition and nature of the universebut the composition and nature of mankind and the composition and nature not only of our daily bit historocal social interactions the more I feel it foolish for me to believe in Allah

I will say this though when Islam says there is no compulsion in religion.it really only struvk me thos year as to the meaning. In my disbelief mode tgere was nothing anyone could say or do to mske me believe or pray my uncle beefed with me two years kuz I lived in his house and was a blatant ass atheist id laugh at him whenever he tried to bring up religion I even told broke wave my religion was the blood gang and that he should give up Islam. One night after some events a dream I woke up feelin bummy I was at the bottom and my dukes callrd me and were discussing and she tells me about her related dreams anf she told me she knew deep down I still believed in Islam and we talked about her life and her spirituality. Went home thst day pfayed and found by the grace of God I believed in it more than ever I had good knowledge of Islam and its deeper history and principles suddenly with my life experience all the different principles snd edicts made complete sense and seemed easily acceptable and applicable than when I was a kid who didnt have any life experience besidrs thuggery but who had just been taught about Islam.

I say all this to say that belief in God cant be forced or convinced on you it comes from God and your soul itself and no man woman or child can truly be made to believe in god. Just as religion is called an opiate atheism is an even greater opiatr because it gives you a feeling of invincibility and arrogamce that makes you think you have an immunity against the greatness of the cosmos simply by denying God when if you look just on earth youre at the whim of manmade powers greater than yourself let alone thinking that you have any mentally inspired protection against the sheer scale and size of space time and matter and what lies beyond that. In my conception I am powerless against anything that lies beyond this earth(and things that arr within it) but I firmly believe in the greatness and power of the one who created and has control over these great bodied

your right. I just use it to describe our creator. Could be a guy in a lab, in the sky or just the natural process that makes life. Does that god influence our lives and tries to stare us. No the irony of this is that the made up one with no evidence and countless myths have more influence over our lives if we believe in it or not. The greatest joke on mankind.

Bruh what is the natural processes

Its simply phenomena and mechanisms that we human beings noticed in our limited capacity and frame of scope and we designate it the natural processes we decided that itwas a natural process for the time being until a better and clearer ecplanation comes along

Thats the beauty of science fam theres truly no such thing as natural processes just observable explainable and provable mechanisms events and phenomena that are then put forward in our perspective according to what our technology and understanding will mak es sense of it at that time. In 2000 years your conception of "natural processes" will seem foolish simply becsuse the understanding of those process their underlying causes and their relation to other such processes will hsve changed
