Biology is a degree that u really can't use by itself to get a job. My sister in law ran into this same problem. She ended up going back to med school a few years after graduating and is now a resident anesthesiologist.

If I'm the OP, I'd consider the military. Might be able to start off with more pay since he got a degree.
OP will start with pay and as an officer and not a private.

took me 8 years to graduate with a B.S in biology with a low gpa at that. currently working at a car dealership and a gym part time. not many jobs for a bio degree outside of going to a professional school which i am not qualified for. Taking a class this summer and in the fall to see if i can get into a grad program that is stilll somewhat related to my degree. i got friends making 50, 60, 70, 80 k in help desk/ warehouse work, that went to school with me that decided to drop out early. most of the time i feel like a made a mistake continuing in school.

tired of the odd job thing and im looking for a career i can dive into. Any brehs got a degree they not using? is having a degree really better than not having one?
What were you envisioning for yourself as you were finishing your bachelors? And why do you want to go back to school if it took you so long?

The degree hurts you when you're in an interview for an unrelated position and people ask about it. Do you want to do what your friends do? Help desk or warehouse work?

i thought that even if i didnt pursue a med school or a professional school, there would be decent paying jobs in the life sciences/ healthcare field that with my degree and maybe a certificate, could make me 80 k. but with my degree it seems like its professional school making 100k+ or work as a lab tech making 12 hr. no in between. i lucked up an got a job at a car dealership paying decently, but now that im getting older i realize i have to make a move towards a career. feeling like i fukked up big time waiting too long.

I think it depends on how much debt you have to incur. for me, I have a degree, but had only 5 figure student loan debt that I have already paid off. the exponential cost of getting advanced degrees deters me from even considering getting another one.

Well this isn't simple:

On one hand, there are many things a focused person could do without college, mainly in the trades and IT. You could do well, especially if you owned a business with employees.

On the other hand, in the world we live in, sometimes I think Black people need degrees to not give anyone an excuse not to hire them. "I'm sorry you don't have a degree," when they don't need one is an easy way out for discrimination. If you have high demand skills, like in IT, you are more immune to this but it can still happen.

What you need to do is see how to reinvent yourself to make money and get your debt down. Community college in machining, welding, or HVAC could be a game changer. Any fields you like?

Really it just depends on the amount you spent to get said degree, or if and how much debt you had to use to acquire one.

All things being equal, having something is almost always better than NOT having something.

You have plenty of options. The problem is biology is so broad it's hard to pinpoint on one thing. Now some jobs require more schooling- you can get your masters in education. how long is that? Maybe a year. You can do Pa school- that looks to be 2 years. YOu have some accelerated nursing programs. Nursing is always a safe bet

Now if you wanna skip school and wanna make money right away- You can do pharmaceutical sales. they just require a 4 year degree. You can also go into the government. Nursing, PA, and a Government job are probably the safest. I found this list of government careers with biological sciences
